DZ I am impressed, my fiancee wouldn't even know what a Geforce3 is (though she has gotten me some good WW2 books.

BTW, am I to understand (judging by the post time) that you installed and tested the card on your anniversary? I'm even more impressed if she let you get away with that  :)

No Deez, AH does not support T&L. It may later down the road with DX8 support, currently it does not.

Ahh... CC.. okay, I was just wondering..

Has there been any ideas from HTC that it will be implemented specifically?

I think I heard someone say that the Beta versions are supposed to support it, but I dunno.

anyway thanks -DeeZ..

In DX7, it would be a waste of time to code because you have to use the card's drivers specifically for T&L... With DirectX API (instead of GLIDE, RRedline, etc- various APIs) you can code once for pretty much every card and tweak just a little.

If you code directly to their APIs (RRedline for Rendition Chipsets, GLIDE for 3Dfx Chipsets, etc) you have to have several sets of code to make a game work for different cards.

With DX it's much more easier, although you don't quite get the performance you would if you used the card's manufacturer's API, you still get stable code and very few graphic anomolies with much less work.

In other words, when DX8 is fully incorporated and working, T&L should be supported because it is easily programmed to from within the DX8 API.

Hey DeeZ!

Impressive....nort the Geforce, your wife  ;)

Well, as said, currently HW T&L is not supported, but considering you have a Geforce3 you should be wanting the special GF3 stuff since in the Games now its not supported most of the time. Thats why most games still run as fast as or even faster with a GF2. PerPixelshading and such i think are the features of the GF3. I dont think it will be supported soon. Sorry.
But I could imagine you will see a performance increase when DX8 is supported with HW T&L.

If not AH, I think IL-2 will support that stuff. Not a Multiplayer game like AH, but the graphics are cool  :)

Have already tested with DX8 with hardware T&L. Suprisingly it ran slower but realy depends on your cpu/g board combo. Do to DX8's instablity at this time we are fairly sure we are going with DX7 in the next release. Currently (except for betas) we are using 6.1 .
