Title: why not give kill messages when you die as well as land?
Post by: Citabria on August 18, 2003, 06:48:57 PM
still traffic be less  than the old way and the one way trip furballers will get their name in the text bar too

say...

Lazs died/bailed/captured with 4 kills in the f4u1 of Blue Knights

or somthing

why save the kill announcments for dweebs like me who land all the time?

I would prefer no credits at all and only

XXXX was Killed

maybe  a personal message giving number of kills and assists after any flight

bring shame to AH!

I am cursed with admiration of the AC long before AH appeared............

but I believe shame does work.......... (as you have tried to use it above)

Actually adding the plane may help

Fester was killed in a 262

might be more entertaining than

Fester was killed in a 202

and so knowing the plane type might help everyone elses enjoyment.

But to keep it simple and short I would be happy with

XXXX was killed.

If folk want bragging rights then I am sure they can tell every one how good they are on channel 1. Or maybe their score will speak for them.

I like that... but I think kill messages should be rated based upon how much damage was inflicted.

Tilt vaporized Fester's cherry picking 262 with dweebish La7 cannon fire. The debri continued to travel another 20 miles at mach 2 until it eventually crashed into Ma Kettle's barn, BBQing  her prized dairy cow. As Pa Kettle later remarked. "Eating was mighty fine that night."

Fester tickled Tilt's La7 with whimpy 202 rabbit pellets until Tilt laughed so hard he augered into a nearby 7-11 convenience store. Tilt was poshumously awarded the Medal of Honor for taking out an Al-quada terrorist ring. They were lacing the sluppies with the hug-drug ectasy and the animal tranquilizer ketamine. Fester's was later was shot down by a newbie 8 year old named little Windy Who from Whoville. Fester was heard to remark over the radio as he went down in sooty flames, "I think I hear a who."

I would councel for a minumum 5 kills to get any headlines.  The damm baords are cluttered up as it is.
