Post by: 38ruk on August 19, 2003, 08:12:46 AM
hello all , im having a problem with windows 2000 pro ,and winxp, recently i used my computer to test a friends processor, it ended up burnin the board so i replaced it with an asus a7n8x deluxe. every thing runs fine till i install the video drivers for my ti4600. then i get memory dump after memory dump. now im wondering if it  is the ram or the video card itself?  any sugesstions  on which to replace first?   board is an asus a7n8x deluxe, 512 of pc2700 ram, ti 4600, xp2400 , sound blaster audigy, wd 7200rpm SE . tested each 256 of ram still the same problem thx all 38

Have you tried memtest?  You can find the executable here (http://www.memtest86.com/memt30.zip).  It is a thorough test you run from floppy at boot time.  If there's ANYTHING wrong with your memory, this test will find it.

If that doesn't come up with any problems, there might be some issue between your particular ti4600 and the asus board.  Make sure you have the latest drivers for the chipset (nForce2).

That's all I can think of off the top of my head...
