... and I usually fly every day. :p
So last night I'm part of the A8->A7 furball on NDIsles and I'm locked up 1v1 with a Typhoon. Eventually we end up almost on the deck in the valley just west of A7, and the Typhoon straightens out to get some airspeed and avoid a hill. That's when I open up with both cannons and both machine guns in my Ki-61 and register enough hits to cause black and grey smoke to pour out of his starboard wing. I call out "Typhoon's down." and level out to gain some altitude over the water. That's when a buddy radios "Hey, GoFaster, that Tiffie is still flying." and just about then I see tracer fire impact on the ground to my right so I go hard evasive to the left and stall into the side of the hill. Some guy named TeeCee got credit for the kill.
I said I could've sworn I knocked off the Tiffie's wing and another guy said he thought he'd knocked it off, too.
Wingless Typhoons that still fly and have all their guns? What's up with that?

Got two vulch kills last night after a tempest lit up my fuel tank. My flaming 110 o' death was a sight to behold, spitting its 30mm lovin' all over the enemy runway.
And then I blew up.
I'm sure that tempest thought I was dead as he pulled away, or he would have come back for me. It happens.

had a b17 in CT the other day shooting at me while it was on fire, smoke, wingless, tail-less, nothing but the nose/cockpit flying along in a straight line like nothing was wrong...
guys conn was so bad he didn't even know he was a "deadman flyin" :)

"He was already headed for the ground... that hundred rounds of 20mm just helped him get there faster."

I've seen formations of B17s go invisible outright, and still able to fire and hit me.

I've seen enemy planes go invisible outright and shoot me down, when i'm in large buff formations..

Thats funny gofaster....
My squaddie was diving on a La7 with a Tempest and I Called out he had a 190 on his tail...well the La7 loses his tail but my squaddie is shot down by the 190. Thinkin I should go for the 190 I pull up and make a few turns also watchin for the prox kill on the LA7 who I passed within 100yds of with his cockpit facing the sky in a tail-less fall. Well let's just say 5 seconds later..said LA7 is on my six shooting me down.

Got into a fight last night against HadesEE flying in a FW190A-5 against my P-38. The fight started at 15,000ft and ended up in a rolling turn fight above the deck when I finally managed to blow both of HadesEE's wingtips off and I saw him spiral in from about 2,000ft. I figured he was dead so I pulled up into a shallow spiral climb looking around for more bandits when I saw a stream of tracers go past my canopy so I rolled over to evade the tracer stream. When I looked below me, there was HadesEE in his FW190A-5, minus both wingtips climbing up to me and re-engaging. We ended up going two more turns afterwards before I was finally able to finish him off for good but I was really surprised that he was able to still turn and roll his plane like he still had wingtips.

I got my 17 group blown away on Baltic other night---got 2 of the attackers...was a third..he left as my final 17 tumbled to earth--i was about to bail, but decided to see if it would fly--BOTH wings shot off past the outboard engine, BOTH ailerons, rudder, 1 elevator, 1 engine lost...---flew the fediddlein thing 3 sectors and got a safe landing--im sure that last guy was waitin and WAITin fer the last kill;

you need to get a real internet connection - put that 2400 baud modem in the trash :)

Beware!
Soon the "backward firing Typhoon" will reappear and stalk the skies of AH!

I've also heard that flaming YAK's can also be an issue ;)

wingtipless b17s are very flyable, just not under autopilot.
get a friend in a tank or somethin an have him pintle said parts off :D
You can also break off te wingtips using the hangar.

Also... Ju88s can fly pretty well with no vert stab.. just don't let 'er yaw any.

Same with Ju-87s. A few tours ago I took one up and sank a Rook cruiser and had the fleet acks tear off both wingtips. I was able to fly it for 3 sectors and make a safe landing by just using my rudders to start my plane rolling to one direction and then pulling back on the stick to turn and rudders to level out again. The only problem I had was to keep from spinning out when I touched down because I was missing one of my fixed landing gears.
So just how 'realistic' is the ability to still turn and maneuver missing your wingtips and ailerons by just using rudder and elevators?

Couple years ago I shot down a B-17 while in a FW190A without wingtips. Kinda hard to aim with only rudder and elevators.
