Title: Detonator Drivers blue screen of sky
Post by: AtmkRstr on August 20, 2003, 08:04:53 PM
Since driver update to detonator 45.23 from 43.45 when task swapping out of AH while the clipboad is going through minimize/maximize animation, and then task swapping back in to AH, entire screen goes sky blue and stays that way until AH is restarted by first using Alt-F4 to close AH.

Win XP Pro
Athlon XP 1700+ 512MB RAM
Asus V-8200 Deluxe (GeForce 3)
Asus A7V-266E

Before the vid driver update, this only occured when task swapping immediatly after selecting the arena but before game engine had loaded which wasn't a problem.

All the new Det's (42.xx and later) are really for the FX line of cards from NVidia.  For a GF4, or earlier, I would stay with the 30.82 drivers.  They were probably the last Det's optimized well for the older cards and the most stable.

rgr that.  You have to be careful because the fricken windows update will automatically put some of the newer vid card driver files on your system.  My puter started to act funky, (was after the lovsan worm was removed, so I thought it was a hangover)
but then I noticed some 42.xx files in my driver details.
I reinstalled the 30.82 detenators and every thingis crystal clear.
Its remarkable how the 30.82's work so well with nmy system, not just in gaming but, as a whole.

I strongly recommend if you are having problems with your display and you have a gf4 anything, try the 30.82's and see if that dont fix it.

I have a p4 1.7

Cetainly reason nuff for me to leave Auto-update turned off.  I don't select Auto- update on Anything, but you do have to have the dicipline to check frequently for important Critical updates.
