Whilst sat in a Tiger last night an enemy panzer hove in to view, one 88mm shell and he was no more, on common channel "harry" congratulated me on a superb shot, whilst stating that he didn't even see me. I asked if he had ground clutter on or off and he replied that he had no idea what it was, anyway I advised him to ctrl c and keep it off, I did feel guilty that I had gained an unfair advantage and I am sure that other "players" are unaware that the majority turn clutter off or that the feature exists.
Anyway, would it not make sense that when a player entered the arena ground clutter was forced off if at all possible ?

Hiya Wipass, I have to admit I have absolutely no idea what the hell it is either!!
Is this why u always seem to have upper hand on me I wonder??
LMAO, care to enlighten me please?
Smiggyy.

Hi smiggy,
With ground clutter on you see trees etc and I may be hiding behind one, however with my ground clutter off I see no trees at all just a perfect view of you, try ctrl c next time in arena

I have it off the speckled ground clutter (that stuff other than the trees) is about the most god awful ugly stuff. I liked the tree but the ugly stuff is a worse bad than the trees are a good.
(I did not like the last update where the trees were added to clutter instead of being solid objects)

Thanks bud, well you learn summat new every day!!
Game on now!!!

Yeah it took me a freaking year to figure out the ground clutter thing....also helps while landing a goon and you are trying to avoid those dang trees....just clutter em off and instant LZ!!!!!!

Not to mention that keeping it off can give a significant framerate boost on lower end machines. I usually gain 10-15 fps with it off.

So here we go again...
What is the point of clutter if it can be disabled by players?
Why would a player ever place themselves at a disadvantage by having clutter on, when they can just toggle it off?
Why would a player ever place themselves at a disadvantage during night time, if they can simply 'toggle' off the night by turning up gamma?
Why would a player ever risk a collision with worldly objects when they can simply toggle off the annoyances with the touch of a key.
Eliminate the 'features' that everyone disables anyway and just think of how many posts and complaints on this forum would go away...
Someone slap me please. I was having a moment of common sense.

I was pissed when i found out they added trees and rocks to ground clutter, taking away the only friggen cover there was!

no worries AH2 will have no ground clutter. i turn mine off for better frame rate. but see when i do bring my tigr out most chances are im going to lose it. i got a 12 kill sortie 1 time. i meet a enemy panzer by our vh as i was otw to it.he takes out my track but he dies very fast. then i figure out the field has no supplies.............i lose 22 perks and then not the mention the "host:skull12 landed 12 victories in a tiger 1 of 20th military"

Maybe they are looking for some immersion in a simulation game instead of points chasing arcade mania.

I fly with Ground clutter off! Glass cockpit on! And Invisio mode enabled!
Something is wrong with the score system though.

Trees and rocks never used to be part of the ground clutter, and could NOT be toggled off, they would also kill ya if you got too close to it. That glittery crap and perhaps some small shrubs and rocks were part of clutter.
You can turn on the trees and clutter with no risk of a collision...
It was changed in the last patch I believe. I think.. because of all the problems with it, it was just easier to turn it off and focus on AH2 instead of trying to fix it in AH1.
Hmm does this make even commoner sense? +)

Yes this is a new change from the last patch.
If you touched a tree before it would blow you up.
Also I think this should be something that is in the MOTD screen when you log in so new players are aware that ground clutter can be turned off.
For those that dont know MOTD is the "Message Of The Day" screen that tells you of changes, events, ect... It to can be toggled off in the setup screen.

off it dissapears above 1k anyway so why bother

Nothing beats a squad Mosquito or Typhoon run NOE zipping past tree's and inbetween hills. The clutter really adds to the immersion.
