Got that in an email a few days ago.  

It looks edited....

Powerless area looks a little too black compared to other areas without power (uninhabited northern canada).  

And wouldnt *some* areas have some light from generators, vehicles and the like?

From that picture it looks like several states fell into the Atlantic Ocean.

That picture is edited, I've seen the real ones and they are much less dramatic.
