Bored of the Main Arena. Don't cancel your account, come check out the historic Combat Theatre!!!
- Realistic scenarios based on historical terrains and timelines.
- Competitive flying against some of the top pilots in Aces High that doesn't involve 30 planes at once.
- Missions are a special event that usually involve the entire arena.
- Planesets and arena settings used are based on historical data and input from the community.
- Historical radar modes that allow dynamic NOE missions.
Come check out the historical Combat Theatre and enjoy flying in a timeline setting! :)

if there's any *one* factor that would draw in and retain people in the CT, IMHO, it'd have to be the inclusion of MA style radar settings (maybe increase detction height, tho). that's one consistent comment i see as to why more people don't fly CT, "it's too hard to find a fight."

Give Shane a cookie!! :)
Goofy radar settings added to the much shorter icon range makes fights, generally, more work than I care to put in.

maybe we can remove the cockpit setting from CT too, you know like easy mode IL2/FB/FA !!! just have the instruments kinda floating there at the bottom of the screen as a heads up display.
yeah, that'll draw in the numbers
who wants them in CT if they whine "it's too hard"
it ain't hard enough

AlL the things you mentioned fork are the things that keep me away except the "best pilots" thing which is simply.... false. Pretty easy kills in the CT.

It's not about "too hard"... it's about "too boring".

Been flyin the CT this past week....has been a good change of scenery for me personally. The fights are good....the radar thing I understand, although it does not bother me.
Worst aspect of the CT is the lack of players....if there were 100 or so every night, I doubt I'de be back to the MA.
As to pilot skill, it's just like the MA imo.....there are a small percentage who can get after it.
Oh yeah....I really like the maps....whoever does those maps should be doing them for HTC....I like the different fire effect as well.
Lastly, the plane match ups are refreshing after doses of the MA and it's unrealistic planesets.

Lot of fun the last 2 weeks in the CT.
Get rid of the field capture aspect and keep the radar settings.
Would cut down on the milk run dweebs, and confine the fight to a smaller area, making it easier to find a fight. You want to milk run go to the main.Funny seeing the fuel porkers die so many times to take down fuel, and it doesn't matter.25 - 50% fuel is more than enough to fight in the CT.
The low icon range and radar settings are a plus for me.

Some great furball action last night.
Wish it was Slot circa Blacksheep days, would really like to fly f4us down the slot - pretending I'm Pappy or Robert Conrad lolh. "Knock it off, I dare you." lolh Showing my age.
I agree if the numbers were better I'd be there more than MA until I got tired of restricted plane set 8).

Solomons 1942, gofaster. Would direct you to the thread in the CT forum, but I can't ever figure out how to do that. Look for something like "Setup for August 22."
Basically, F4Fs (NOT FM2s) v. A6M2s, some P40b iron dogs thrown in for the self-flagellators, dive bombers on both sides, the teaser Kate, and a twin-engine bomber for each side (Ki67 and Boston), generally ignored because the fighters can't catch them except in a screaming dive with the wings rattling.
It's a lot of fun.

Historic plane sets and maps are great... and the terrain is superb! If one doesn't like the current setup, it's only a week. At least you don't have to deal with the desert terrain there.

Studies show that a flight of more than three minutes to a fight, for the average ADD pile-it, will inevitably lead them to turning around to see what's on the cartoon network and getting shot down. ;)
