Don't know if this has been posted before, but what the hey....
Would it be possible to add and automatic bomb drop to the bombadier's position?
For example...
Calibrate airspeed and altitude exactly like it is now. However, add one more OPTIONAL function to the sequence. The player would "mark" a position on the target using the bombsite (similar to calibrating airspeed). The player could then leave the bombsite and attend the guns for defense.
When the bombsite crosses the "marked" position, the bombs automatically drop, assuming calibration is done correctly and the bay doors are open. Any changes in direction or speed would obviously skew the bombing results.
Marking multiple drop points would be allowed providing all the drop points are in a line. Don't know how useful multiple points would be but...
And, I know, the obvious workaround is to take a gunner. :D
But I don't wanna.... I prefer to have control over my own destiny, especially after I've spent 20-30 minutes climbing to alt.

Doesn't this desire conflict with having the computer drop your bombs?

I have never used a real Norden bomb sight, but this is how it works in B17-2. The bombs release automaticly when you pass over the selected point. But then, I don't think the axis bomber had the same type of sight.

Would like to see the "missing" ventral .303 machine gun put in the BOSTON III where it belongs.
Cannot understand why it was left out. It would be an easy fix.
