Well, Funked and the likes, I just bought it for $20. Most of F12002 MODs are not convered yet, but stuff like the Mini Chalenge is due at the end of this month.
Any1 feels like racing?:D
I'm starting to goof around with Zmod on my spare time, I want my Formula!:D
-
I don't have it, probably won't buy it unless they port GTR.
-
Waiting for CanAm, GTX5 and The Prototype Mod.
Funked, someone is working on a GT 2003 MOD.
-
I like mostly cars that look like a car. F1, indy, Leman, Can Am ... I'm not too crazy about it.
GTs, Alphas, Minis, BMW M3s, BTCC and Muscle cars is more my cup of tea. "rubbing is racing":D

Trans Am mod coming, Historic Touring Car Mod coming... and many others Funked
F1 2002 is last years news ...

Looks like all the MODs want to enjoy F1C physics evolution. Which is fine with me, I never played any of those F1200x ... F1C is fun as I don't use any driving aids, it took me 20 tries before completing a lap at Monza:p (Monza is the only track I recall from Microprose F1 hehehe nothing changed, the turns are still there)

Waaayyy better net code from F1 2002 to F1 Challenge. That's the best improvement... better sound, better low speed physics... it's harder to drive, but more satisfying and makes sense...

What should traction control and ABS be set to to be realistic?
Off, low or high?
Automatic gear should be for upshifts only, right?
-
There's no front ABS on F-1 cars, but the drivetrain control system can act as rear ABS. Low ABS setting in-game would probably simulate this best.
Traction control is definitely part of the drivetrain control system on an F-1 car. It's completely tunable in real life, so any setting in the game could be done on a real F-1 car.
Some cars are fully automatic, some are automatic upshifts. They all still have the ability to upshift/downshift with manual button/paddle action. Any shifting setting you choose in the game is possible with a current F-1 car.

I dont run the ABS setting. I do run the traction control but only for the f12002 set of cars. For brake setting, I went into the directory with the files for the individual cars and modified a brake setting. Think it was "brakepressuresetting=6". I changed that to a =1. I think of this setting as sort of like the master cylinder setting or size. Made braking much better without the ABS.

Check ur email coffee....

I noticed that F1C had a new brake pressure setting in the new setup menu. The f12002 cars seem to lock their brakes way to easily also.
