Title: windows XP home or pro? does it matter for gaming?

does XP home or pro matter if your just a gamer wanting fastest possible frame rate? or is there more difference between the two?

Dunno.  I use XP Home and it seems fine for Aces High.

Have used both and neither one is clearly better than the other.

Just for basic gaming you will hardly ever see a bit of difference.

So to sum up, no clear difference between the two so go with the better one, XP Pro.

i recenty started using xp home; you can get the oem full version for 92 bucks online, i couldn't pass it up. easiest os i have had to date.

Theoretically, apart from SMP support, there's scant difference from your POV, but who's to say that 'that dll you need' isn't only there in XP Pro? Tablet PCs are a case in point.

Play safe, get XP Pro.
