Title: Interner Explorer question - help needed.
Post by: miko2d on August 27, 2003, 09:10:10 AM
In Internet Explorer when you click Tools -> Internet Options... you get a window with tabs "General", "Security", "Privacy", "Programs", etc...

Somehow on my computer the tabs "General" and "Programs" have disappeared.

How could that happen? How do I restore them?
Any resources where I could get help/advice?

I have Windows 2000 with the latest Explorer (6?).

 Thanks

I have found that even if you are in the admins group,
if you are not using the default admin account that it will not let you change those.

Yes. I am the only one using that PC.
I am behind a firewall, not run/install any programs I do not buy, etc.

I mistakenly clicked on an ad banner that popped up some ads. I believe that might have caused the problem because later I discovered that my home page was modified. When I went to fix it, I noticed that the tabs gone.

What kind of login setup should I use?

Is there a way to fix the problem? Do I have to reinstall the IE?

Now you've done it.  You have to burn that computer in total and buy a new one.  NEVER click on an ad!
