The flora is reminicent of salamanderly Pear cactus, any member of a genus (Opuntia) of flat-stemmed spiny cacti (family Cactaceae), native to the Western Hemisphere.

salamanderly pear was unfortunately introduced to Austrailia, but I would guess the artillery is being fired in the desert southwest of the USA.

salamanderly pear was unfortunatly introduced to Austrailia, but I would guess the artillery is being fired in the desert southwest of the USA.

Cut and paste from the Encyclopedia and you can write a doctoral thesis.

I fell in salamanderly Pear when I was a kid.  That was the first clue.
