I know this is one of those ideas that probably won't get far, but though I'd throw it out anyway.  I wonder if killshooter could be turned off for squaddies, but left on for others in the country.  That way, you have to be careful not to shoot down a squaddie who gets between you and the target, but you'd still go down when firing on others in your country who are not in your squad.  

I realize this may not be worth the effort to program, but wanted to see what others thought of it.

Nope !!!!

If you have squaddies dropping in front of you causing killshooter, then you have a squad problem which should be addressed in the squad ... not in the code.

The FDBs have been pulling for this feature for some time.  Hopefully, it will be implimented and lazs will have even more reason to throw creamo's score back in his face.

Think I would like it off for all with massive perkie losses for the shooter.

It would cause absolute uproar in the arena as folk struggled to adjust to such a regime............. but I do believe that peer pressure and a freindly kill risk would reduce these long streams of AC we see chasing stuff every where............

If u shoot a friendly, you should absorb the damage.  Why would anybody argue this???    I have in 2 years, exactly 1 killshooter death.  Admit it, you can see friendlies cutting in front of you, but, you greedy bastige, just cant lay off the trigger.  If a friendly cuts in front of you, he obviously has the better position and therefore assumes the lead. you position yourself for the next change of leads.  And etc. until the nme is dead.  This is a method that you can use everytime, even if your friend doesnt want to.  Because if he gets greedy and tries to shoot the nme thru your plane, he dies and not u.

I love how when there is a killshooter post, assorted people are guarenteed to open up with canned generic killshooter thread replies.

Squadmates shouldn't be affected killshooter, dammit, If i shoot a squaddie, Ithey had damn well better die!

I got a great killshooter idea.  I dont want to die if I shoot a friendly.  Somebody elses game should be ruined for my stupidity.
I played a game once where there was no damage to anybody when i blew a friendlys wing off.
Trying to target a particular plane is BS!  I just want to shoot anyplane, and if I get an nme I want it to die, but it really irritates my to have to go back to the airbase and take off again when a
friendly deleiberatly flys into my bullets.  And then I die?  This is absord
In real life the stoopit pilot who blocked my bullets wouldve died, not me!:D :D :D :D

The problem that you run into leviathn is that I can't hit any plane(s) directly in front of me.  I will always be safe, you should know this by now.

Actually some aspects of kill shooter I am not sure about.....

If I follow bogie into his 6 attack on a freindly bomber formation..........

a) Should my shots on bogie miss and hit the bomber does kill shooter apply to me?

b) Should rear gunners shots on bogie miss and hit me does kill shooter apply to him?

I suppose the thing that I do not like about kill shooter is that the safest place .......seems to be infront of the guy firing bullets rather than behind him. This encourages quite unrealistic situations where by folk cut into a dog fight....... (and builds up to a many on one actually in combat).........they may or may not have the better shot at the time they cut in my point is that "cutting in should be a dangerous thing to do.


Hence killshooter IMO is really antifrag.......... and IMO the perk system could be modelled to penalise the fragger.

Given AHTOD will have a Court Marshall system I hope that both Kill shooter and freindly collisions are set to Off and On there respectively.
