Madonnas a good singer and great performer.

The song she sang last night seemed blah almost to the point of boring.

I kinda think in real life her ego exceeds her talent and her brains.

Britany Spears looked hot as usual.  She has the weakest voice of the three that were onstage, but she is still the best looking by far.

Christina has the best voice, very strong.  Why she tends to dress like a cheap hooker and keep her hair all skanky is beyond me.

LOVED it!!   You bet I did.    I'm a pig.   ;)

Wife didn't even look at me. She just continued to watch the show and said "Oh I bet you just loved that...."    I could only smirk in acknowlegement

And the RIAA wonders why music sales are in the gutter...

never ending supply of poptarts/skank , boybands (monkeys and all after them) and just plain cheese (American Idol) youd think they invest in some quality control...

you compare half of newer acts compared to those in the early 90's and before and they just dont compare...

Wheres the AC DC's Police, Run DMC's (rap is fine if its good) (puffdaddy is not good) Van Halen's... Echo and the bunnyman.. I could name at least 50....

half or more of the newer acts cannot even write there own music.. they require  N.E.R.D. , Timberland and other less marketable(great skills just dont have T&A) musicians to do it for them...

Freaking silly RIAA your new product line sucks.......

Madonna is really is reaching. Pop is unforgiving to old people, and she should roll with the changes and move her career in a different direction if she has the range and talent to do that.

Have to agree with Eagler somewhat here :) I'm all for giving adults the right to choose (and hey, it looks pretty entertaining to me), but MTV and Springer etc. are pushing the sex sells thing pretty hard these days either directly at adolescents (and younger) or at times when they can easily view the materials and it's a bit disturbing. And no, I don't believe the Ten Commandments in a school or courtroom will solve this -- it's a marketing issue not a religious one :) I don't believe in censoring or making the material unavailable. But I also don't believe in selling Hustler to 12 year olds (now that I'm no longer 12). Perhaps there needs to be more control over what's shown in non prime time television?

Didn't watch it.

Don't think I would want much to do with any of the 3 of em.

Ya ya they're pretty, or good to look at, or whatever  NO Question there. :D

Still .... No thanks. :(

Don't get me wrong! I LOVE women!

I think women (their mind that is) and the female form can be the most beautiful part of all creation.

Yes those three are attractive, possibly very attractive, even extremely attractive, but I don't think I care for whats in their heads and what might result from contact with them.  Probably very nice persons, and my impression is allot of charisma there, but.......  not for me type of female I think.

LOL I'm way too old for em anyway, and doubt I'll ever meet em, much less even see em in person! LOL

well, something you can say for Madonna is that if you close your eyes and listen, she has talent. By far, 'Dont Cry for me Argentina' is one of her best... and this coming from someone that can tell you that it is really as moving as the original in spanish. That girl puts feeling into it.

Spears and the others are nothing but cheap exotic almost-nudie dancers that rely exclusively on their tits and tulips to please their audiences.

Once you guys accept the fact that these three women are not singers, musicians, or artists in any way, and begin to think of them as sex fueled entertainers with large breasts and skanky hair, youll all be alot happier.  :D

PS:  Dont watch too much MTV, its Liberal brain rot for children.

Madonna and Spears are not singers, Christina is a great singer and a true talent ( as a vocalist)

Madonna's talent is very broad and hard to define, but she is not a great singer or songwriter.

MTV sucks. Has for years. I think it really began to slide back when they started doing "reality" television... that or maybe it was when they gave Paulie Shore a job. Then again, maybe it was John Norris. I've never seen a middled aged man so desperate to be a teenager.

AC/DC is still working, but last I checked the Police were split and one-third of Run-DMC are dead. Van Halen has fired both of the best lead singers they've ever had and they are probably out of options for the next replacement.

Some of the new music is great. Cold Play is first rate and I can't find any reason to be offended by Linkin Park even though both my teenagers love listening to them. You don't see much of them on MTV, but I think Cake is awesome.

You really shouldn't fret too much about the end of the nineties and look at the bright side... Selloutica (Alcoholica) closed the VMAs.

Oh... and Kiss came out of their year-long retirement to do a tour with Aerosmith. Party on, Garth.

Old age check: Do you remember when Mtv played videos more than any other programming?  Do you remember Headbangers Ball or 120 Minutes?  London Calling?  Rolling Stone magazine and Mtv have all gone down the crapper.  I picked up the latest RS issue and had to go through 38 PAGES of ads before I found the contents page.

Wife and I were watching the show when a band was playing.  I was in the kitchen making a batch of coffee and made the comment about "I didn't know Green Day had a new CD out."  She said that it wasn't Green Day, that it was Good Charlotte and they sounded more like Sum-41 than Green Day.  Then Chris Rock came in after the song was over and said something about that being a mediocre Green Day video.  I looked at my wife and just smiled!

Pop music sucks today.  Plain and simple.

*Leaves to go put Highway To Hell on the CD player...

Back when the Beatles came out, they weren't considered to be pop. Parents of the day worried about the influence of the Beatles much the same way as present parents worry about Eminem.

About 50 million fans at the time disagree with this and so do I.  The Beatles early stuff is nothing but dripping with pop sweetness.  To deny that is to deny the Beatles early legacy.

That's just the thing... Beatles early legacy was rooted in rock and roll and blues. Early Beatles doesn't quite compare to the sticky pop sweetness of of the other late 50's early 60's stuff... Andy Williams, Neil Sedaka, Bobby Vinton... etc.

I can't argue that logic, it makes sense.

Paul McCartney has made no secret of his admiration for Buddy Holly and, while no Andy Williams, his music was definitely pop.  Same can be said for the early Beatles stuff, lots of vocal harmonies and jangling guitars.  To me though, A Hard Day's Night started to change all that, slowly at first though.

So, even though I wouldn't dare compare the pop of the singers you have said, I still say the Beatles early stuff was pop, albeit at a much more level of sophistication.

Hmmm... forget learning an instrument, just get yourself a synthesizer and drum maching of some sort.. find a chick who can wail like a sick banshee and a dude who can "ryme" and you've got yourself a million seller!

Whoever turned MTV into the complete crap it is today should be taken out and publicly horse whipped.  ...and whoever taught our kids that "yo yo yo" was a cool way to begin a conversation while wearning pants 5 sizes too big should be taken out and shot.

Dave Matthews Band is crap.

Virtually anything played on the radio, spare good 70s/80s/early to earlymid 90s rock stations and classic rock (since that ventures back to the mid/late 50s) stations, are crap.

So crappy I think my speakers are taking a dump in the car.

I guess I look at it from a medical side of things.  STD's are their highest ever in the U.S.  1 in 5 persons are now infected with herpes complex 2.  Aids is on the rise, and uncurable Clamidia (sp) is now present.  Venerial warts are common and gone untreated cause ovarian cancer (most women do not even know they have Venerial warts) It could actually save your life to commit to one relationship.;)

I'm telling you there are incurable forms of Chlamydia now.  You failed to address anything but this one item. that shows your ignorance.

If left untreated, chlamydia damages reproductive tissue, and can cause chronic, debilitating pelvic pain, infertility, or fatal pregnancy complications for women.  Most women do not even know they have it.
