Title: Frenchy and other P-47 lovers must read
Post by: AHGOD on August 29, 2003, 03:42:40 PM
I thought I would share this as I found the articles very interesting.  Especially about the P-47 diving to 550 mph after only dropping 4500 feet.  Enjoy.

yeah but he was looking outside not at the airspeed indicator when he was guessing so its not a quantifiable or scientific number, if you deduce from AH flight model of the 262 which will give you a high speed climb of 1000-2000fpm at 400mph and the fact that he ended up 75 yards back from the 262 and stayed with it while it was climbing would indicate his airspeed was probably closer to 450mph as he split S'd right on top of the 262's by lead turning them.

any way thats my sherlock homes deductive L33T 5K1LLZ at work :)

but still a great read thx for the link
