So, do I just not think these stories are funny because I'm American? That was just, well, stupid.

Howard backs down on North Korea - “Weapons Threat Real This Time” (http://www.chaser.com.au/show_story.asp?ID=760&ED=76)
" Prime Minister John Howard has expressed extreme caution on the possibility of joining any aggressive action against rogue state North Korea, pointing to their likely possession of ‘actual’ weapons...."

It's called satire, fairly common in this part of the world, I can't help it that stupid American Conservatives make such easy targets.

Of course Americans are all empty headed Bozos (Bozo is/was a clown for all you non-Americans). Makes you wonder how they became the world's only super power doesn't it?
-
Some British humor rules, some falls flat on it's nose. This one is a bleeder bigtime.
And it now needs tape for it's broken glasses.
-
I think it's pretty funny.
Makes a statement about the ease at which the current administration can pull the wool over the American people's eyes. Spot on if you read between the lines.

As compared to, say, Britian's administration, or Russia's, or Iran's, or Canada's?
Nothing really new presented there about the nature of politics and governing bodies. Some are, just plain better at it because they've been doing it longer.

Yep, I know what satire is. I also know what funny is, and that ain't it. I haven't found anything or anyone yet that I felt should not be made fun of, so I'm certainly not offended by it. I'm just also not amused by it.

I laughed my arse off...And I would have laughed at a similar good story about my own, or any other goverment that I somewhat know.

I suppose, I simply thought the vehicle for the comedy old and needing a tune-up. But as you implied, it could easily have been any govt and it would have been equally funny. But the OP is well known to be anti-US, as are many both within and without. It's fashionable these days and many more join the chorus each day. And they are so busy pointing out the faults of others to see the history of their own country(Britain and the boar wars, or the occupation of India and the slaughter of many natives for example, or France and Dien Bien Phu, or Russia vs Afganistan).
All to which I can only say:
Is that Satan I see, sitting in judgement of the sins of man?

Liberals and good intentions. The road to hell is paved with them:)
Conservatives build it though so no one is exempt.
Q: What's the favorite schoolyard game of politicians?
A: Dodgeball.
