Man, the Eagles took it where the sun don't shine tonight.  Was it just me or did McNabb look completely out of sync?  I was suprised that we didn't see more of the 4 wide shotgun look from them.  It's where they've done the most damage in the past.

What was scary was Sapp as a situational TE, you see that catch and run? If nothing else it makes the team they are going to play spend time on game planning for that.

I was at the FIRST ever TB game and have been a fan since, I lived in Tampa for 10 years and took a very powerful ragging through all the "BAD" years. This feels sooo good last few years.

GO Tampa Bay

Joe was added to my fantasy football team this morning. :cool:

That one-handed tip, spin, and catch was worth the roster spot.

I think the Bucs should go back to orange and cream.  Also bring back the feather pirate.

So, do you Floridians just jump on any bandwagon that has a pirate or a fish on its helmut? How many of you were actually Tampa Bay fans since 1976? And how many lost interest in the Dolphins when Tampa Bay started coming on in their own?

when has a qb ever looked good against the bucs?

edit: well recently

Reminds me of a quote from Buddy Revel:

"I've never seen a bigger ***** before in my life.  You didn't even try man... how's that feel?"

The quote came to me somewhere in third quarter when the Eagles had 3 straight completions and it was still 4th and 4 yards to go.  The same stupid pass plays and same stupid off-tackle running plays all game long.  It's not too hard to have a defense look good against an offense that only runs 5 different plays all game long.

the defence made it so they couldnt do anything but those plays. when will you tards understand football. when the bucs played the niners and raiders last year in the playoffs their play selection wasnt much better.

I back all FL football teams - both college & pro

Gators and Bucs are favorite as Jax didn't get a team until after we moved to Tampa

It is easier to root for a winner :)

Just wondering if McNabb has checked himself into a hospital with a "concussion" too this morning :)

No frogtard, Philly didn't even try.  The defense doesn't prevent you from running a wide array of plays, they prevent you from gaining yards.  The fact that an offense is one dimensional makes it easier for the defense.

Really... how many times did the Eagles even try to thrown down field?  5 step drop to throw to Duece at the line of scrimage... only to be tackled by the linebacker that's been shadowing him since late in the 1st quarter for a 2 yard gain.  Oooo... let's get tricky and have Duece stand out by the sideline and catch a pass at the line of scrimage... only to be immediately tackled by the same linebacker.

Wanna run?  How many times do you recall seeing Philly's running back run straight up the middle, 1 yard right into a blob of linemen.  Hell... half the time he wasn't even tackled, he just stopped cause there was no place left to go.  Hardly any pitches and attempts to do an end-around.  So few that I can't really remember any.

It was the most cowardly offense I've seen ran in a long time.

What happened when the raiders tried to pass downfield on the bucs. Besides a few garbage time TD's they dug themselves a hole from int's returned for TD's. Keep talking down the bucs defence. Its funny.

Well, sure, everyone does. I back up the Washington State Cougars when they're playing, except when they play Washington University.  But, did you wear a Buccs cap or shirt around for the years they sucked? No? Then you're a BAND_WAGON_JUMPER :)

Yeah, just ribbing ya. ;)  I'm still a Seachicken fan, but I rarely attend games these days due to family life (which includes usually includes 1 Seahawk game a year)

Joe was playing way over his head. I still wouldn't count on good, consistent fantasy numbers.

hey eagler did you hear anything about a rocket launch last night. I was driving home right after the game over the bay bridge and saw something launch from the direction of the cape.  Huge flame across the sky, then 2 boosters broke off as you could see it accend into space.

Not talking down the bucs defense at all.  Just not using it as an excuse for what the Eagle's did last night.

If they'd thrown down the middle or out to the sidelines and dug themselves a hole at least they would have been trying.  Risk nothing, lose nothing but gain nothing offense is the coward's way out.

You need to learn a little more about the game froggy.  Learn the difference between the defense stopping someone and the offense not even trying.

Sure thing frogboy.

It's not like you're biased or anything and just rooting for the bucs.  Nah.  You watched an objective eye... I'm sure (did you even watch the game last night?).

Philly's offense sucked... straight up.  The buc's defense was good, but Philly's offense still sucked.  Look at how many times last year the bucs held a team to that few yards and that few points.  I'd venture to say it wasn't more than once or twice.

I really don't understand why you fail to acknowledge this... insisting it must have been ALL about the buc's defense.

Right rip.  I like the way you dismiss being a dip**** as "just trolling".  That's a card you have to use just a bit too often.

As I said I was at the first game and have allways been a TB fan, though it was tough to admit for many years.

I still like all the Florida teams (with the exception of U of M).

We also have a team with a large cat on the helmut, is this ok with you or should we have Micky Mouse ears instead?

and just what is wrong with a pirate or a dolphin (btw NOT a fish) anyway?

Did someone say something was wrong with them?  You know something we don't?  Please do tell!

The dolphins are "phish", trust me ;) (I lived in Ft. Lauderdale)

Is Brunell still hobbling around in the backfield? Mickey Mouse ears are preferable for that team, but I can afford to say that because they remind me so much of my crappy team, the Seahawks.  You can thank the U of Washington for Brunell.

Try a greeny or a blue runner (Ft. Lauderdale faves. you should know) I also lived in Ft. Lauderdale and you should know these are the baits of choice down there. (My parents and brother and his fam still live there)

The dead stink bait might work on farm catfish, but not here.

try another

To be exact, Light House Point.  This is a long shot, but, you ever heard of someone by the last name of "Bebergal"? Jewish family that our family was really close to. We've lost contact over the years (and a divorce later).  Naturally though, with Boca Raton, there's probably many Bebergals down there.

Well in the football heirarchy of rabid-fanness you got:

(a) FSU and Florida for the high-IQ population (or those that think they are).  Bowden's success seems to breed more fans than the tradition-rich Gator program that seems to have more ups and downs than the stock market;

(b) followed by Miami because its a private school so not everyone would consider going there because the credits don't transfer.  In the world of college rivalries, neither FSU nor UF really consider it much of a rivalry.

(c) followed by Univ of Central Florida and Univ of South Florida, which are up-and-coming programs but will always be second fiddle to UF and FSU.

Then on Sundays, the masses follow

(a) the Miami Dolphins, because they've been around the longest of the Florida NFL teams, so they have a deeper-entrenched fan base.  They also have a reputation of being a good program year in and year out, with a number of Monday Night Football nationally-televised games to help keep their fanbase together.  And a rivalry with the Jets doesn't hurt, either;

(b) the Buccaneers, who finally got some respect with the Super Bowl championship.  I've followed the Bucs since their my home town team, and during the dark years I would watch them on tv because it wasn't worth buying a ticket to go to the game.  While the Bucs/Packers rivalry will never equal the Jets/Dolphins games, at least its something;

(c) the Jaguars, who are sort of the red-headed stepchild of the Florida football group.  They're sort of the Deep South backwoods team in the metropolitan big-city football world of NFL Florida.

The way I see it, with the new divisions coming into their second year, I think the Falcons and Saints games will become bigger and bigger, particularly since both programs are somewhat decent this year and (hopefully) will get better.

"While the Bucs/Packers rivalry will never equal the Jets/Dolphins games, at least its something;"

Yeah it is something, that something being over.  ;)  That was a Favre-Sapp rivalry anyway.

You want a long lived rivalry, try Bears-Packers.  My Bears ain't shown up in that one lately, but it has been goin on for something like 80 years.
