Or has this been the week of quotes?
Perhaps the time has come to recognize weekly winners, not unlike Rude's award (sorry to steal your idea). Lazs, Mathman, Creamo- all have gems this week.
I bow in meager submission to the well-penned observations of many! :D

Not a bad idea to have an award for something positive instead of for whining. Most of the good quotes relate to the whines anyways.

but what to name it?
What do we call the award for the perfect counter, the deadliest riposte?
Would indeed make a nice combo with Rude's award.

I suggest a Ned Flanders-ish name for the award:
"Most Notable Quotable"
"Distinguished Linguist"
etc. :)

I rather prefer a title more like "To The Point", as all the quotes have a way of succinctly cutting to the heart of the matter.

This has got to be the most "weekly award" crazed bunch I've ever seen. No doubt everyone will win an award of some kind or another here. Hell, add a "Weekly Award Idea of the Week Award". :D

It sorta goes with multi UBB boards:
A board to talk about Poop
A board to talk about Poopoo
A board to talk about Doodoo
A board to talk about Caca
A board to talk about Crap
So, you end up with five different boards when in reality everyone is talking about the same sh*t.

Well, let's see... we could talk about negative things like people who are new that come in here trolling just to get attention (which is a negative way of looking at things).
OR we could occupy our time with weekly awards that are given in jest.
Or we could start a weekly fart joke contest. That should go over well.
OR you might look at it as a fad that will pass in time. It would seem to contain at least the slightest possiblity of being civil and positive.
BTW Roto, no use going for the "Whine of the Week" award by hijacking this thread to the anti-UBB agenda. The thread hijack whine of the week award is already sewn up. ;)

Dangit, have to add another gem to the pantheon of heroes this week. The following is the most successful anti-troll line I have ever seen...
HT the developer of this game is just a web page developer compared to the guy who programmed Warbirds. He knows it and we know it. He does the best he can walking in the footsteps of the genius who developed Warbirds.
The gameplay is very hard for some people to understand. But then so is chess. And snakes and ladders.
The game will only improve to a point where it is playable with the contribution of experts like yourself.
Yes, gentlemen, we are rich in genius this week!

HiTech has become like me. The only difference is, that I talk a whole lot more, and that he owns the game, so everyone is all HAHAHAHHAA HITECH, GOOD ONE <S> when he insults everyone on channel 1. Well I put an advertisement in the Squadron section and have been offered a place with the 101st Airborne Heavy Artillery Regiment by Commander Rialbh. Apparently this squad is one of the most successful in Aces High anyhow and full training is to be provided. So the money's well spent imo.

We have "Whine Of The Week" so why not...
"Wit Of The Week"?
That would cover "witty" remarks of all types, including put-downs, comebacks and other displays of above average mental and verbal ability.

I couldn't agree more...time to showcase the talent in this community rather than the lack of it.
Of course, unlike my reward, which requires very little ability to point out a whiner, this new wit award must have a master of ceremony who pocesses the mighty pen while also the humility to use it wisely.
I nominate Toad...His Kung Fu is clearly stronger than anyone elses on this board.
