my computer that i had in my room is about to be trashed. some .dll is messed up and i cant even get to windows.:( ill be back(sometime) and i hate doing this at this time when the knights need all the numbers they can get......im stuck on my dads computer for now. he wont let me download AH to it.

More details, you won't find a more intelligent or helpful bunch when it comes to computers than right here.

toss out your spec's skull ....

 ... what .dll  is missing ....

what version of DirectX  ect ,,,,if its 98se i can email ya the .dll and tell ya were to install it ....

or a simple reinstall of DX may fix it ...
or reinstalling your video drivers  

im shure the others can help ya with the other OS's

/huh? ohh what is wrong brb(will edit)ok it is COMCTL32.DLL will not start and no directx 9. btw i have window me

i have it in 2 places .... c:\windows\system
and in c:\windows\sysbckup

if you want this COMCTL32.DLL    its 536kb   and i can send it to your email ... send a reply at  roscoroo@hotmail.com

and ill re it back to you .   it will need to go into your system folder.  then i bet you may need some more ...

and dont tell me that you dont have a copy of your ME  op system ...... Im not snail mailing another one this week ....:D

You can fix the problem by reinstalling Internet Explorer 5 or later versions.

Random errors in shared objects. Fex. mouse moving over desktop raises exception. Causes due change in COMCTL32.DLL file. File had equal size and date but part of then was overwritten by garbage (probably when system crashes). Find original file on
installation floppy (CD) and rewrite it (probably IE or Windows).

Or you can download the latest version of this .dll from   here. (http://www.createwindow.com/wininfo/comctl32.htm).

It's really a minor inconvenience and you should be back up in running in a matter of minutes if you either reinstall IE 5 or greater or the file on the other link I posted.

You may have to boot into safe mode in order to do it.  Another way is to use your system restore feature in WinME to roll back to a date where your computer functioned OK.

:rolleyes: you know the logg in screen? where you loggin to your account for like screensaver etc.. well i couldn't even get pasted that. ive fixed it now. my dad had to mess with cd rom drive setting though. then we did windows restore. im ok now. ive download AH and since today is minuim day ill be on early.:D

Also your computer seems to have messed up your sig. It makes no sense, is spelt wrong and is too long. Make with the fixing.
