NICE! 3D directional sounds again  :D

Except for engine (no effect) the guns firing, explosions and aircraft machination noises all sound great.

How can I know what version of directx I have and where can I get the last one?

To find what version:
From the Start menu select 'Run', in the box type:
DXDIAG

Maybe it's my imagination but these sounds have really increased the immersiveness. Be it on the gound, firing my guns in the air, flspa, gear etc etc.  I could hear shells 'zipping' by my mannable ack station when a squaddie was battling a panzer/osite and an errant round came close. Or maybe it was just the sounds of the vehicle to vehicle fight lless than 5k off being so much better.

 This beta gave hit my fps for about a 20% loss but it would be worth the trade for the new sounds alone. I hope the engine sound becomes directional again. It's the only sound that was the same as the regular version.

Hmmm... I couldn't here AAA zipping past me on the dek of the carrier, but the explosions sounded nice.

Jihad, do you have much cooling for that CPU? What frame rate?

I'm using the stock Intel fan. <boxed CPU>

I also have the side cover off the case with a 20" box fan directing air from a window air conditioner into the case. FPS around 40-45 in the DX 8 Beta.

FSB 112 mhz
CPU voltage 1.85 volts
CPU temp 84 degrees F under load.
