To play this game you must realize that it will never be fair.
Practically since day one, complaints have errupted very frequently about player numbers. Classify these complaints in many different forms, but it all boils down to the game itself. Especially the MA and envoirment that it creates.
In order for there to be a game there must be victims. No victims no game. This is cut and dried.
Most players prefer not to be the victim. Since the game is not about playing against AI, they prefer to win over a victim. This victim is another player.
If every player won and there were no victims then there would be no game.
If you become too frustrated with this concept, perhaps another game would be better.

Why don't you field a softball team of 3 players ... a pitcher ... a catcher ... and a fielder. Then go play in a regular league.
Tell me how much fun you would have and how quickly would the other 2 players start complaining that they need more players to make the sides even so they could be competative and have fun.

Its not a question of winning or losing. Most play this game for entertainment, and though winning is preferred, it is not the only reason to play.
That being said, whether we win or lose, we'd still like a chance at least a relatively fair fight.

Hiya Mino ;)
"No victims no game"
And isn't that just the basic truth of the matter :) Some days you're the tire while others you're the road kill. And while it feels good to be the windshield sometimes it just plain sucks to be the bug.
It's a good thing no one is one or the other forever (usually)

Cubs fans are cute, like little puppies. Every spring is the "trip to the park" that turns out to actually be a "trip to the vet," but it doesn't matter, next trip to the park they're excited all over again.

Lasz seems oddly absent from this conversation.
Please allow me to attempt to weigh in as I imagine he would:
who cares about numbers? even if you're outnumbered, you can always up from a vulched base and have instant furball action. if you're some fluffer bomber jerk, then you deserve to die when you up lololololool kekekeke ^_^ nothing else matters, fight to live, live to fight!
Hrrm, I may have missed some of the subtelties...

From a MAW? Time to log.

No, its about immersion, about being a WWII hot shot fighter jock in your head.
Its about believeing that your really up there in that plane doing what your doing.
Dawn patrol with pink fluffly clouds,
1 life events in Squad Ops with huge pucker factor.
Its that sinking feeling you get when you start dancing coalt with another guy. When you realise that he may be better than you.
Its that huge rush you get when you fight your way out of that same dogfight & win.
None of those things work if the numbers are too far skewed. Numbers will never be perfect, we wouldn't tolerate the controls to make them so.
We'd be unable to fly with our friends or our squad.
So we make the best of what we have & wait for AH2 TOD to arrive.
Meantime if you fly for the side with the big numbers consider a change for a tour. If you rotate, consider rotating rook/knight & leave bishop out.
HT rewrite program so first time person logs into main he goes to the side with the lowest #'s.

cool...
a thread with a philosophic background.
I could throw in some sublime thoughts about topics like "Intelligence" and "Common Sense" and "Awareness" and the lack of them.
But damn...who wants to blame 85% of the community because of a game?!

Short memory. HTC solved the numbers issue with the new perk system. Almost overnight the numbers in the MA balanced themselves and we haven't had the imbalance complaints like we are again seeing. So it was fair .. for a time.
The line "this is how it always is" .. or the more popular " its your turn in the bucket" is rubbish.
Solve the problem? Next time you log on, switch to the team with the lowest numbers. Easy huh? But I'm sure you have a million reasons why you don't do that.
