Saw this linked on Blues News. Lots of details on AH2. Not sure if this has been posted before but didn't see anything about it.

WG: I see. I don't know if you've had a lot of time to think about this, but after Aces High II is released, what are the next couple of major changes or additions you have in mind.

DA: There's still the same list that's always been there. I mean, after Aces High II is released and stable, we'll be back to adding more aircraft and more items along with it. I've always wanted to get to the "first-person-shooter" stuff. The Aces High II engine supports that really, really well. So that will be one of them. And then we'll be back to submarines. I want both of those in the game.

OMG that would rock.

Theres alot of good info in that Thanks

I've been dying to get myself one of those ... (submarines)

I remember Back when Hitech was telling us he needed to figure out how to get it to dive in 5 inches of water (the depth of the oceans in the current AH )   Ahhh more stuff to dream about ..

The only issue with submarines, and it's something I've noticed with the boxed games, is the amount of time required for the cat and mouse between the submarine and destroyer. Making the attack is cool, but how about the 3 or 4 hours trying to escape? I suppose with a human in control of the destroyer it might be a bit less boring on the submarine. $.02

"With pixel shaders you can do a lot of really neat special effects. One of them you saw [in the demo] that was done with pixel shaders is the new tracer effect. They have little spirals to their trails when you fire your guns."

Awesome! I loved this effect in IL-2 . Glad they are implementing it.

This interview was done at the Con in July so it's not exactly new news, even though it was only published today by Wargamer.

Agree BH.   But don't go away.  Someone will be along shortly to inform you unpolitley just what an ungrateful curr you are and how you should be humbly bowed upon one knee chanting praise and scripture for having gotten anything at all.  ;)

Let 'em come.   I for one can't understand why folks are getting so twitterpated over AH2 and/or the fact that HTC's been pretty silent on it lately   But seeings how they are getting twitterpated, I'm able to enjoy watching them make complete tulips out of themselves 1 way or another

Personally, I'm glad Sabre's interview finally got posted up.  I walked in on it and sat there next to HT and Sabre, listening as well as my drunken state would allow, but I missed most of the 1st page and didn't remember and/or understand some of the rest.  So it was good to be able to read the whole thing.

Now watch this.  I'm going to feed the anxieties of BOTH camps of AH2 conspiracy whackos, both those who think it's dead and those who think it's almost here, with 1 and the same sentence.  And even with this disclaimer, you KNOW that many in both camps won't be able to resist it.  Even if they refrain from making a public show because of it, you KNOW it'll be eating away at their brains.   :D

"Because that interview was done in July, doesn't it make you wonder why it only got published today?"

Gawd, that was a mean thing to do.

Why not tell the community when you do an interview like this? I mean we are itching for news always...

BH!!  A most interesting observation to say the least. I'm sure the reason was to prolong the release and still give the community a smal bone to chew on.

 Westy

(Actually.  I simply figured the reason the interview took so long to get published was because Sabre needed several weeks just to run the answers he got during the interview through a spell checker ;)  )

Personally, I think it was either because Sabre forgot to submit it until now, or WG had more important things to do until now :D

Or.......??? ...!!!!

Well, I've no idea what WG had been doing or was kept busy with.  So I have to pass on adding any speculation tere....

Buuut.....

Perhaps Sabre was asked NOT to release it until just now by Pyro or HiTech?  For reasons such as to boost players interest before they tell us AH will be delayed or ____ _____

Interesting speculation on why the interview took so long to publish.  To clear the air, the interview was submitted almost two weeks ago, but everything has to go through a peer review/editing process.  This is somewhat quicker for interviews, as they are really just a transcript.  Nonetheless, it has to be done.  Having said that, it still took longer than intended to get it submitted, and that is my fault.  Going to the Con set me back schedule-wise on a number of projects, which were all demanding my time.  Plus, life can be just soooo darn busy!  Usually, I get these things turned around and published in around three weeks:( .  In any event, I'm glad people enjoyed reading it.  Talking with Dale at the Con is the best part of going.  Although, the lunch Jarbo and I had with Dale and Bob "Mouse" Shaw was probably the highlight of the event (we ate at Hooters, so the company and the scenery were both...well..."Stimulating" is the word that comes to mind:D).
