How do you know that this movie was not filmed on the Moon?

That's a good one.  Finally, the conclusive evidence that conspiracy theory people have been searching for.

At least they could have used another type of structure... the Trilite was introduced in the early 80's

Too late Rip, the secrets out unfortunately.  Apollo 13 was fake to btw.  So was Apollo 1.  :D

Yes Malleus, I did read it after posting my answer... the first time I saw this video, months ago, it was in one of those "moon fake" web sites... it was presented as a real proof of the conspiracy, so I reacted in the same manner I did the first time... Overreacting? Maybe, but this topic is irritating... There's A LOT of people out there that believe in the conspiracy theories due to some idiots claiming that all the pics and movies of the Apollo missions are a fake, based on "proofs" that any amateur photographer can undermine.

(Is undermine used correctly in this sentence?)

Rip, sorry, I'll see the video a little later, now I watch a film about Russian Everest expedition that climbed it's Northern Wall from Tibet side.

BTW, why do you think I believe Americans have never been to the Moon? It's pretty stupid. Apollo missions were tracked by Soviet radars, and if only they had a single doubt - Soviet propaganda should have used it immediately.

BTW, does anyone knows a title of the TV series about Moon missions? I saw 2 or 3 episodes, and want to find and DL it in English. Very nice work.

What amazed me was the "Apollo-13" film. I have read a lot about that mission, but I never thought it was that bad :(

It was far worse than the movie told you.  My father was on the GE team for Apollo and was part of the engineering team rescue effort.  The logistics alone of putting a rescue plan together would be a good read.

Awesome, awesome series.  Hanks did a good job with it.  Although (then) Ellington Air Force base is no where near a desert though.

To Rip: When I was this small, your joke had a beard this big.

:(

We have many jokes and all things about our own space programm, including surrealistic literature like Victor Pelevin's "Omon Ra" (a must read BTW). But our media never afforded to spread bull**** like fiction stories about Soviet cosmonauts who flew before Gagarin and "died in space", like your propaganda did.

Mietla, thank you for the title! I'll get a copy, it's much more intersting then other educational series like BBC's dinosaurs.

I read Apollo missions descriptions in Soviet Encycopedia yearbooks, but this dry reports didn't give me the idea of what really happened...

IIRC Lowell's book was translated in USSR, but I didn't have a chance to read it :( You know, finding some books was difficult here. If it was printed in only 100000 copies - it was almost impossible to get :(

First time I heard it on "Voice of America" or some other propaganda radio in mid-80s.

Just make a Google search for "Vostok-1" and "Ilyushin".

Also please take a look at this
