French question: There's a restaurant in Le Touquet called "Les deux minots" - not sure about the spelling. But the sign shows two ducks - a white one and a black one. What is that "minot" word? - I thought duck was canard...
-
Maybe it's a patoi word for Duck, or a type of duck.
"Les deux minois", ca serait bien plus interessant:D
-
Deux minous mignon (sp?) :)

It's a bit complex , next time I'll go to the Touquet I'll ask.
As I know a minot can be :
- a quantity of flour
- a child
if the duck are young it can that ...
Btw when going to the web site of Le Touquet I've found a restaurant named "Les Deux Moineaux" not a "les deux minots" :)
The moineaux (also called "piaf") look like that :

Yes, Le Touquet - Paris Plage. Been there many times. That restaurant is in the main street - Rue St. Jean.
But there's a very good seafood restaurant at the nearby town of Etaples - well worth trying, but can't recall the name - but you can't miss it.

For the best sea food in Paris...you go to a restaurant located in Orly freezer container depot.............
Its one day fresher there than anything you eat on the Boulevard du Montparnasse.

Rgr that, Tilt. But Le Touquet, despite its somewhat misleading alias of "Paris Plage", is nowhere near Paris. It's on the coast not too far from Calais - jumping off point for private pilots in their cessnas and pipers. The hotels there do a roaring trade out of VFR pilots who have been socked in by bad weather!

I was going to ask what this thread was about but figured it was a 'moot point'.
