Yup GM ruined those things as tough SUV's by catering to the DINK and yuppie segment, they are nothing more than a glorified Minivan

Hell I've seen that happen with real jeeps.  Stupid trying to use a jacked up station wagon for real 4x4 stuff.

I've taken a 30 year old(OK, 29), unmodified Bronco over much worse than that.

I love early broncos! I'd like to get one but the price is inflated for any that aren't 90% rust.

Right now I wheel this

It could use better tires and a locker, but it gets me just about anywhere around here.

The problem here is very simple. A GM is NOT a Ford F250. Don't try this at home folks without at *least* a Ford.:D

How much does a Hummer weigh?

Take a look at this: http://www.imakenews.com/autospies/e_article000119385.cfm

Right around 7,000 pounds, I believe.  A bit more for the wagon, a bit less for the pickup.

On the one hand, this statement is rather offensive...

On the other, take a good look at Ford... Seems that outside of SUVs and Mustangs, everything they have looks like a Nissan or a Toyota.

Hell half the Fords are thinly disguised Mazdas.
GM makes trucks with Honda engines.
Chrysler is a Daimler Benz puppet.
Put a fork in the Big Three, they are done.

I thought GM used Isuzu engines (Diesels) in their trucks.  Did honda design the 5.2 liters?

And... what did you expect out of the H2?  Gimme a stripped down government surplus humvee any day.

It's quite easy to bend your steering rod in real 4WDs too, friend noticed this when he was driving in a jamboree in Russia with his Volvo C303 (http://www.kolumbus.fi/staga/klubi/volvo_levittaa.jpg).

My 96 S10 had an Isuzu 4-banger in it.  Isuzu also has the same body on their Hombré pickup.

Diesel engine is a joint venture between GM and Isuzu. The 5.2L is a chrysler engine, 318 block. Then GM V8 that you're thinking of is a 5.3, roughly equivalent to a 327 block. The Tracker still has the Isuzu made 2.0L 4cyl and the 2.5L 6cyl.

Funked, the only SUV I can think of that might have a Honda V6 would be Saturns' little entry. I don't really know anything about it though.

Well.. considering I was a former Jeeper. I seen even the best set up snap a tie-rod...

I saw several when I was in the NAGCA, (North American Grand Cherokee Assocation).  Tons of fun!!!

This is what mine looked like (note this is not mine old jeep)
