Post by: Honch on September 18, 2003, 09:57:49 AM
I donno how many of you guys will be effected by this Hurricane, but most of my Knight friends are here on the east coast, so -  if our numbers are a bit low the next few days its not because we've given up!

Those blasted Bishops. Don't they know that developing a weather control weapon is against the geneva accords! ;)

It's not too bad here yet.  The northwest part of the eye just crossed over the Moorehead City/Atlantic Beach area.  Rainfall north of Chapel Hill has picked up, and the wind for the first time today has started howling.

So far it's nothing extraordinary.  Unfortunately, it's just gonna get worse as the day goes on until the worst of it passes through by about midnight.

Why is it Hurricanes are usually given womens names?

Because when they arrive their wet and wild, and when they leave they take your house and car with them. :lol :lol

Well, things weren't as bad as they could have been.  The rain wasn't nearly as much as they'd predicted, but the wind surely sucked.  Power stayed on here throug the duration of it, but we lost cable and phone right at the tail end of the storm last night.  It's all back in working order this morning thankfully.

Now to go clean up this total mess of a yard.  Maybe I'll take some pictures and post them later.  :)

Wadke, just a small point. Your sig. attributes a pearl of wisdom to slapshot. It was in fact Abraham Lincoln who once said this, but so have others including Denis Thatcher, and according to a google search I did, the quote even appears in "Mark Twain".

Credit where credit is due.
