Title: Politicians' Cars
Post by: Ripsnort on September 23, 2003, 08:59:50 AM
An article in the Washingtonian this month revealed the vehicular choices of some prominent politiciations.

Mini Cooper: Trent Lott, Ben Nighthorse Campbell

Cadillac Escalade: Terry McAuliffe (DNC chair), James Carville

Terry McAuliffe cruises around in a 6.0 liter leviathan doesn't suprise me one bit. (Democratic hipocrasy runs rampant in this country)

Nope, they just help choose which Dems do.

Picking and choosing which political actors you show creates a skewed image of reality.  I'm sure it would be just as easy to find two Republicans who drive gas guzzlers and two Democrats who drive more efficient vehicles in order to show how Republicans hate the environment.

Also, could you point me to that article?  I went to the Washingtonian website and can't find it anywhere in either this month's or last month's archives.

Gore drove a Chevy Suburban while VP (private auto)

No froggy, I don't spread lies, your own party does that just fine, I just post them here, show you your reflection in the mirror, and sit back and laugh while you over react. :rofl

I did a quick search on Yahoo with the key words "politician" and "cars" but couldn't find anything.  I'm guessing the info came from a Op/Ed column, hence the James Carville inclusion.

You might have to pull that $5 bill out  of your wallet (and start the process of Lincoln being blinded by sunlight) and buy one..

Thanks for the link; their website search function stinks.  I'll just wait until they post it online next month.  It appears they remove some content in order to encourage buying the print magazine, and a month later they add the excluded material to the website.

Now, what's the complete list?  They only show Lott, Campbell, McAuliffe, and Carville?

I won't disagree, but without a ruling party, chaos and Frontier justice exist, so I vote the issues (just happens most of the issues I agree with fall right of center)

Say that when you T-bone an SUV in your econo car and you need a new car and he just dusts his off ;)

or better yet,

Say that when you're T-boned by a truck or an SUV ;)

I'm buying a truck this week.  I've already done the numbers.  In my econo car now I pay $21 for a tank of gas (14 gal. * $1.50) The new truck has a 22 gal. tank, so $33 for a tank.  Truck will get about 5 to 10 mpg less than the econo so I'll prolly go from about $30 a week in gas to $40 or $50.  Get T-boned once in an econo car by a truck or SUV, or anything going fast and chances are it won't matter how much money you save on gas because you'll be dead.

Can't pull a boat with an econo.  Can't load stuff into the bed of an econo.  Can't have a tailgate party with an econo :D  Most of all, in an econo car you can't look down at the hot lady in the car next to you and see down her shirt  :lol

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Arnold.  He isn't elected but if the DNC Chair can be included Arnold can be.  He has something like 5 Humvee's.

chances are you will die flipping that truck over and into a ditch then you would getting t-boned by another car in a econo car. but if you have a small noodle lets just get that out into the open as the real reason for the truck purchase.

Minimum driving age in Canada is 16 years old.  Far as I know you are 15 years old, and will not be 16 years old until 12/22/03 (three more months).

Perhaps you meant your Dad's econo car gets decent milage, goes fast and doesn't run his insurance way the heck up.

By now I should be inured to your posts.  My bad.

On trucks-

I live in the country.  I own a VLT (very large truck).  Every VLT I have owned has been a practical purchase.  City dwellers and/or suburbanites are not expected to understand the practical aspects of owning a VLT.  City dwellers and/or suburbanites are expected to stay the hell out of the country.
