Title: Burning hulk
Post by: 1K0N on September 23, 2003, 09:10:11 AM
As I shred the wings off a P-47 with my F6 50's, both wings fall off and the hulk is a burning falling mass about 4k up, I am feeling pretty good and pull the nose up to gain some alt, looking out the rear view I see the Burning hulk I had just created floating
to the ocean slowly, But wait....Out from nowhere come two brave countrymates to save me from the Burning hulk, they fire round after round at the falling mass one actually turning 180 to make another pass after the flamed P-47... I yell on range " the wings were both gone what are you firing at" Other pilot yells back "P-47's down" by now I have spit beer on the monitor screen while laughing... I yell at the monitor screen "friggin Porcupines"
  Its just a game!!!

That's odd; you have no score this tour.

Could also be Netlag. I've seen it happen, where the airplane might have appeared intact and in a stall to them.

The:mad: is because kill-stealing happens all the time in the MA, and that's how I feel about it.

as for "yeller"bellied, just look for a Bishop P-47 and you will find out.

My first impression was the jump to a conclussion one...
After thinking about it, I also had considered lag as reality.

1K0N,
Reddg is part of our squad, the 56th FG. We fly P47's and it's essential multiple bandits jump us, or we'll hand em their ars's.... Your countrymates were just responding out of fear of the jug :D

We have all seen the "hovercraft" phenomenon, the "flaming dart", and the "tail-less" flop, and know that the plane is dead. Yet some still insist on shooting the crap out of it hoping to get the kill.

I love to see the kill message appear in my buffer and then watch the dweebs lost their alt, spend ungodly amounts of ammo trying to make it explode, and then end up augering or getting bounced. :rofl

If the plane is not flying with some sort of forward movement, then I consider it dead and will not shoot at it ...

UNLESS ...

One of my squaddies has shot the plane, or one of the BKs has shot the plane (especially Lazs), or one of the 13th TAS has shot the plane. Only under those conditions is it fair to "steal the kill" cause cod knows, they will do it to me ... :D

Slap that statement brings a tear to my eye...

It's a duty that most, in their mundane day to day existance fail to grasp..

A higher standard

You guys can all just shuddup!! :(

I had  new one ripped for me AND a nopoop rating of 6.8 when I whined about killstealing.

And now I'll get slagged for whining about a whine about a whine.

And you people MADE me do it.

To avoid getting kills stolen from you,
stop being a spray-and-pray dweeb, and kill your targets properly.  Get close and shoot untill thier plane dissapears in a cloud of debris.

If you're going to kill people half-assed, expect others to finish your job for you.

Ikon, you should listen to your own words.  It's just a game.

When this happpens it is not the killstealing that gets to me, it is the 2-3 countrymen losing alt and using up ammo on a dead hulk when there are other valid targets around.

Weird

Standard rubber stamp response for this thread topic ...

"stop being a spray-and-pray dweeb, and kill your targets properly. Get close and shoot untill thier plane dissapears in a cloud of debris.

Spray-and Pray:

Stupid assumption

Kill your targets properly:

Slicing wings off sounds proper to me

Shoot until their plane disappears:

I am sure anyone who says this always makes the plane explode. Obviously they aren't in a early war ride with limited ammo so after slicing a wing off, why spend more ammo making the plane explode.

So that spitnikla7 dweeb 500 yards behind you doesn't steal the kill.

After flying knight for over a year before I took a break.. I just came back and joined the Rooks about the 2nd week of September, or near that... I will say that the majority of Rooks
are excellant to fly with way more so than I remember with the knights... I hear less range channel fighting among the countrymen, less bickering on text, everyone is friendly.. willing and asking to help all the time... Very impressive... !!

bah ... I'd rather bank my ammo for something that I might have to kill after the flaming dart speeds towards terra firma. If they need the kill that bad then they can have it ... there is always more where that came from.

Don't get me wrong Innom .. I like to make them go boom as much as possible, but one has walk a fine line when cannons are only 240 and everything else after that is 303s (practically useless unless a concentrated stream is poured onto the same spot on the A/C).

OH PLEASE !!! :rofl

I have been a Knight from day 1, and yes there is in-country bickering but not on the scale that you are presenting. With that many different individuals involved in a "group/country" effort, bickering is hard to avoid at times.

I spoke with many "other country" pilots at the con and from what I understand,  Knights don't corner the market on any aspect of the game that would cause someone to switch sides.

You have been back for what ... almost 2 weeks and you can claim Shangra La ... time will tell.
