Hello all.
First to let you know that I stopped flying WB online 2.5 years ago. ( P90 wayyyyy to slow )
However I kept following news group & all, just to fly offline once in a while.
I am getting a new machine soon and AH looks as will be OK for my wallet with the fixed monthly charges.
Well, to the point.
If transports are needed and the DC-3 is available.........
2-3 paint job can change the plane into a British, a Japanese or a Russian counterpart.
Japanese Navy Type 0 Showa L2D ( code name Tabby ) appr. 500 built

Russian Lisunov LI-2 'Cab'
appr. 2800 + built
I consider the DC-3 to be primarily an American plane, however it did flew with minor modifications for the USAF, US Navy, the RAF, the Japanese Navy & Russian air force during WW2.
The point is that with only a couple of paint jobs you could have transports that represent their country.
They could be available only in scenarios if needed.
Can't wait to get new machine (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)))))

Li-2 was not an _exact_ copy of DC-3. It was all converted to metric system for production in Soviet plants. It looked the same, but was a little heavier, that resulted in slightly smaller range and performance, but made a bird generaly more reliable.
BTW, all Li-2s were ready to be armed. AFAIR - 1 12.7 UBT and 2 7.62 ShKAS machineguns.
