How many actually know who he is? Drunk and remembering the days, I decided to see how many people could actually remember or even know who the hell this is. Set off the next day (Monday) Surprisingly I found 1 person that I work with that knew who he was. I chatted with 150+ people from execs to plant workers, old and young. Simply amazing, but then again I live in Holland. I am sure they have never even heard of Kama Sutra.

Until 79 ;) I was actually going with the PIL route. Say Sex Pistols most will know Sid. But not a one will know who Johnny Rotten is. And to be honest I liked his music better. Creative and inspiring.
-
I didn't care a whole lot for PIL... kinda thought Johnny had lost his touch. They still around?
-
PIL was good, much better than Love and Rockets but not as good as New Order.
-
PIL were great, I think they were only together for a short time before splitting, I remember 1 album and a couple of singles. Jah Wobble went on to make some good music, think he's still around playing bass somewhere.
-
Loved Public Image Limited when I was a teen...even saw John Lydon in concert before PIL broke up
fav albums were: Happy?, Album (Cassette/Compact Disc), and Public Image
Tronsky

Actually I've still got a couple of very old, dust covered cassettes..........Flogging a dead horse and Never mind the bollocks.

Just go to Kazaa and I nabbed quite a few, errr purchased. watermelon wasn't it like 10 albums? And Math is right they were better then Love and Rockets 1 album wonder.
Was just odd, I hadn't listened to them since I was 16, then one night in the bar a song popped in my head and couldn't remember who sang it. 4:30 in the morning and I found it. The days.

I have The Great Rock & Roll Swindle and Never Mind The Bollocks.

I was watching one of my kids skate video's (I think it was called "Sorry"), and there he was hosting it.

"the king has gone but he's not forgotten.....this is the story of Johnny Rotten "........
-
rotten is a frickin no-buddy now.
sex pistols came through a few months ago......so sad.
yeah he was in one of the greatest bands (IMHO) but he's nothing now, he's old and is trying to hang-on to something that has changed.
-
He had a really cool syndicated radio spot for a while back in the mid 90's where he talked about this date in rock history. He used to skewer artists like Madonna but gave a pretty good summary of each bands contribution to the world of rock and roll.
Sarcastic and caustic but intelligent with a heaping dose of wit. Two thumbs up.

Just saw him play a couple weeks ago with the Sex Pistols at San Diego Street Scene. He threw beer on us and called us 'bananas'.

You say that like it was a bad thing...

Everyone know how Johnny got his last name?
Think hygeine.
My first year in college ('87) I discovered the Sex Pistols and even saw the Sid and Nancy movie.
Was extremely fascinated by the razor blade scene. Ended up getting drunk and carving things into my body.
College was fun.
