Chick-fil-a is hugely popular for some strange reason.  They just sell the same kind of chicken sandwiches you can get at Wendy's or Burger King.

Never heard of Pollo Loco.

Where did they compile this list from?  As a seasoned perveyer of fast food drive thrus (read fatty), here's my list:

1. McDonalds
2. Wendy's
3. Jack Off In The Box
4. Arby's
15. Burger King
148. KFC
1,568,234. Taco Bell

This is based on all of the franchises in my area, of which there are multiple locations for each brand.  Oh, and I just judge on speed and order accuracy, as I've never found myself looking for a friend at a drive-thru window.

I drove through a "Boston's Super Dog" back in `75. I was in a `67 El Camino and it barely got dented. No deaths or injuries. The insurance company paid the damages. $25 fine for driving without a license (I was 13). Made the local paper with a pic of the El Camino stuck through the wall under the sign that read "drive through." Those were the days.

Taco Bell ALWAYS screws up orders.

Sometimes it's for the better.  I ordered a two Gordita meal once and they gave me a huge family sized meal of like 15 tacos and mexican pizzas that the car behind me had ordered.

As a full-blooded Southern Californian, I must say that I am in complete agreement with Funky.  The simple menu makes for easy ordering when drunk at 1 a.m.  Also, the Double-Double is easily the greatest fast-food hamburger ever created.

Burgerville isn't on the list.  must be 'cause it's "inconveniently located for most of the United States"

how the hell did Burger king get on the list?  I'll skip lunch before going there.

Comparing Chick-Fil-A to Wendy's or Burger King should be a Capitol Offense, altho BK is starting to get better since Texans bought it from the Brits. Isn't In and Out like Sonic? You don't actually have a drive thru, they have carhops bring you your food.

My Personal Top 10:

1)   Beer Barn
2)   Beer Barn
3)   Beer Barn
4)   Beer Barn
5)   Beer Barn

Funked is on to something... MT, it's embarrassing that INO didn't even make your top ten. Are you sure you live in Cali? :D

...and ARBY's? Good gawd.. they suck. They're on the top of my "gee that looks really good on paper but what the hell is this you're serving to me" category.

Pollo Loco is pretty good but I've never done their drive-thru.

Not my top 10. These were rated by a Quality Assurance magazine. McDonalds came in 19th or something.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats waiting 5 minutes in line for a Whataburger.  I've been from one side of this country to the other and nothing comes close to a hot, fresh double-meat with cheese, order of fries and a soda from this fine establishment.  If the bun ain't grilled, it ain't a burger.  Hold the fediddlein' ketchup while you're at it too.

I'm guessing there was some sort of size of franchise restriction that prevented joints like In-N-Out from being ranked?

My wife really likes Chick-fil-a. But they're closed on Sundays, when most Fast food employees are really hung over, so I think they should be disqualified.

those on the west coast are forgiven their ignorance re. a truely proper 2am drunk as hell hamburger joint.  I'm thinking they are all east (ish) of the mississippi river.  i've seen them sold them at grocery stores.  they are little square paddies.  do NOT buy those.

double whitey burger w/ chesse, regular cheese fry's and a chocolate milkshake.
my god.
heaven for you belly.

p.s. whataburger is horrible (shudder) got one near me. NEVER go there (unless it's 2am and i'm drunk of course. no white castles here durn it.)

Sliders will kill you!

In-N-Out  has gotta be the best...they'll still put you in an early grave though.

Too bad nobody down here sells Halibut cheek burgers. Had some every time I went to Homer, Ak. during halibut season while filming the Valdez spill, can't wait to go back for more.

This chain comes highly recommended by my friend, CPP (Californian Pistol Packer). I had never heard of it until CPP told me about it when I saw him last month. I shall make a point of dining at an In-N-Out - probably when I visit CPP after the minicon.

However, I see no reference to Carl's Junior - that was my favourite. A CJ Superstar. :)

LOL - no reference to White Castle sliders. I couldn't believe it when a friend of mine ordered 16 burgers for 3 of us, until I saw their size... :lol

Wendy's and In-N-Out were the best ones. Carl's JR and Jack In  The Box were the worst ones. Most mexican drive througs were substandard IMHO.

Chick Fil-A.  Yummy.  A chicken sandwich and order of waffle fries drowned in Polynesian sauce.  There may be better fast food out there, but I haven't found it yet.

Whataburger pluses:

They have Jalapenos, sliced or whole.

The ketchup can be utilized in the car.

RC cola.

They take CC.

The minuses:

Slower than chit.

Must take the moron test and score well to be hired.

You WILL taste the bruger for 12 hours.

hmmmm, In-N-Out.  I grew up in the San Gabrial Valley. Covina. They were simi big back in the 60's 70's. When I visit on leave from the Army in the 80's, they suddlely got big. Man they are the best. My family laughs at me when I go back the visit. The first place I have to hit is In-N-out. What kills me is that my Niece like Mickey D's better. She's sick.

Sorry, but I had White Castle for the first time when I was in Indy for the Con.  It was absolutely disgusting.  The onion taste that pervades the entire burger is awful.

Worst fast food ever IMHO.

You aren't supposed to eat there unless you are too drunk to taste the onions.
