That was the best comic strip ever, with Calvin and Hobbes in close second.

I loved the series where Opus takes the "Rainbow warrior" to antarctica to find his mom.  Classic. And Breathed skewers the left just as well as he skewers the right.

I think these are reprints of the earlier series, right?  I know my local paper will be doing a Sundays-only reprint of The Far Side for the next 3 months.
