I move into my first place on the 15th October!
Just a two bedroom flat, nothing exotic - but it is brand new and it even has remote control gates to the car-park. :)
So after living away from home from 18-22 years old, then coming back to live with the parents for the last couple of years until finally saving enough money to buy somewhere... this is going to feel so good.
No more working out who is going to be at home if I want to bring a girl back... and getting my dad's shift pattern wrong.
No more waiting for the folks to be away before getting a few people round.
It's a five minute taxi ride from the bars in the city centre, 5 mins from work, 30 secs from the nearest pub and there is a chinese takeaway about half a mile away.
The only downer is that damn mortgage business. ;)
I still can't believe it. Feels like Christmas. Good times are definitely ahead. :D

good deal !
A place of your own is great, even better close to work :)

An update on your living arrangements?
Congrats, but what about your REAL dilemma?
What'd you ever do about the two women lusting after your body????
THAT'S what we're all waiting on!
;)

WTG Dowding!!

Thanks. :)
My love life is 50% less complicated. I'm now just seeing the girl with the 'enhancements'. Much better this way. And alot of fun too. :D

Now you can order porn DVDs without worrying about your parents finding them before you get home. ;)

WTG Dowding.

wow
congrats on taking your first step towards conservatism :)
-
Congrats Dowding...being young is a fine thing....I'm a little envious:)
-
Thanks guys. Maybe conservatism isn't all that bad... I can feel it approaching. They should cut all the stupid purchase taxes for a start. :)
Rude - I wouldn't be that envious - my disposable income is about to hit a new low. Won't even be able to afford an internet connection! :)

no internet ! oh heck you could always cut out beer...
yea right LOL !
I moved into my first apartment at 17. My cost savings came from eating hamburger helper without the hamburger and selling my blood plasma to supplement my income. Fortunatly I didnt drink then or I would have starved :)

selling my blood plasma to supplement my income.
been there, done that. the worst was buying raman soup for 6 cents a pack, using the flavor packet and boiling water for a cup of broth w/crackers for lunch, and saving the noodles plus katsup for 'spagetti dinner'.
some times I miss the old days but I sure don't miss the food. I used to blame my excess weight on a slower metabolism, but I'm begining to think it's just better quality food.

You don't understand. You're not going to miss out on anything. When I am in an apartment in 'civilization' with women lacking the 'remain clothed instinct' that would warn them to never come over for dinner, drinks, etc. my internet time is guranteed to be 'zero' for long periods of time.
It's like saying you live on Snowbird Mountain in Utah but you don't have enough $$$ to buy new a new surfboard. Who the f**k cares? :)
What city are you living in?

Well it's not all that bad. I've put aside £30 a week for food. I've managed on less than that as a student. No worries.
As for the internet, the only thing I do with it these days is post to this board and email.
Sheffield is the city by the way. Don't know if you know it. Not huge, but it's a great night out if you ever come this way. You can crash at my flat. :)

Congrats Dowding.

"Every child got to have his own." :)
Dowding, how about a few pics of the neighborhood?
-
Sure. I'll take some when I move in and use my bro's computer to post 'em.
