Hello.
We all know that there is TE in AH and anyone who wants builds his own terrain for SEA/CT/MA passes it to HTC and they buid it if it is ok and suitable for flight. In TE you can make you own plane skins to make this aircrafts suitable for historical events.
But what about planes?
As we know we can use only planes that had been build by HTC, we can only reskin them but........
There is so may planes that AH need look just this thread (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=88690).
But what is plane - wings, engine, guns, controls etc.... If we could make Plane Editor else. Define all suitable parameters the way the planes defined in another fly simulators like FlightGear.. Edit its 3D model. and..... fly of coures after HTC will test it.
What it gives us
[list=1]
- We can make any event in history - for exemple Spanish Civilan War or Korean War.
- Improove the current events: Ballte of Britan - Do17, 109E1 different types of other German bombers that we do not have for thes scenario. The later periods - B-24, B29, 109K. a lot of planes and feachers that HTC just can't buld on its own
- Produce events with execlty planeset that we could never done before - allways we shoud change somthing a little - forget Do17 in BoB, forget russion bombers in Nieman etc... to make event more historical

Would be a great idea yeah. In IL2 u get some 3rd party flyable planes in some of the uppgrade. And even if you fm is kinda "unrealistic" perhaps you gfx job is so good, htc decides too use you gfx and make a appropriat fm arnd it,, and vica versa.
-
Problem is going to be the FM..... So I dont see it happening... on top of that it opens a big door into cheats.

There is 2 simple ways
[list=1]
- All flight models depends on Aerodynamycs/Engine haracteristics. This are just tables of numbers. The people who understans such things could make them work like in a lot of flight simulators. For exemple in FlightGear sim aircrafts defined just like text files of tables - qutie simple. Of course the AH PE should do this in more userfirendly way but it isreally possible.
- There might be some feachers that included in Source Code for each plane that could not be easy defined in FM tables (I do not know how HTC made their FM) so in AH PE you just build a part of sourse code that HTC compiles and gives like dll file.

how about NOOO
hitech has repeatedly said no way nerd to this idea...

Aces High is a WW2 sim... why would they want jets such as the Sabor from the Korean war in a WW2 sim? It would mess up their whole lay out... eventually someone is flying a P47 and all the sudden an F-22 locks on to him... AH would end up with all sorts of things showing up in here, and it wouldnt be a WW2 sim anymore. If it were restricted to WW2 somehow it wouldnt be bad... but i would not trust someone designing my p38's for this game besides HTC staff.

I think having a plane editor would be cool if there was some control that went along with it. Such as: finished 3rd party aircraft are submitted to HTC for evaluation (including historical relevance, visual and FM quality, etc.). Approved aircraft would then receive the same security measures as aircraft designed by HTC, so there would be no hacking or other hanky-panky. All of the time-intensive work would be done by the 3rd party, and HTC's part would be relatively easy. I like this idea since I create a lot of planes for FS2004 using Abacus FSFS2.x (not gmax!) and would like to be able to try my hand at AH aircraft. If new aircraft were screened by HTC, it would ensure that only quality, secure planes made into the sim...

I am curious why HT was looking for a cheap licence for a 3D editor I was under the assumption that maybe he would do something like add the ability to out source alot of the modeling work for planes and vehicles to other people, if anyone knows why he was looking for an editor please let us know

3D model never, too.
Getting tired of doofuses in IL2/FB making what-if planes and add-on planes. If they have the time to make FM for new planes they should have perfected the FM first.
IL2/FB is a great game, but with every patch and every new game its quality drops, because of needless workload from player submitted 3D models which people whine to be included in new patches and the add-on set.
They took the 'non-direct control' approach, and now, they can't handle it.
If any player made 3D models are to be accepted in AH, HTC should firmly state they're looking for which model, and that only, and will let people know if they looking for another one.

im wonder why peoples brings "new" ideas not looking for old posts;)

now how would the p47 know he's been loced on till the last second and i like the idea of the F22 along with the B2 and the F117

well, for 3d modeling you need to know what you doing. Its not soo easy . So if you have skill s in this its will be quite possibly to establish som rules and timing for this. I not expect hundreds of models in one week.
As i write couple months ago, thats way need patience from player-designer . If you do something, just seat at wait when HTC aprove it or not.
all is up from HT, Pyro and HTC strategy
It will benice to have all this stuff but i bet, noone will like Natedog and Superfly layed down from work;)
Other story is, every plane update give people fun. If you have something to offten, you get bored.

Hey hey, this is a great idea ! Dont start dissing it yet.
The planes would be a part of the map, and therefore noone could cheat. Anyone who is going to make a flight model, will most likely research and use historically accurate stats.
And besides, HTC will always have to aprove of a map before it gets in the CT or MA, so its not like everybodys gonna be flying around in jet fighters or starwars ships.

yep , idea was great, discussed 10 months ago;-)

Technically it wasn't discused, only examples of a cheap 3d editor were given.
-
not in this thread about 3d editor, somwhere in AH2 part
-
i think he ot to put a PE in AH2 or AH1 "but" any planes you make can not be flown in a arena where it has stats or main arenas but for like H2H i would find acceptable. Now for the Custom skins should be aloud to be enabled for stat games or main arenas because that they wont make any differance accept the way your plane looks... now thats the way we can have a PE!

EDIT: Oh yeah, about 5. The posts you can actually understand.......
Well some of em.

As has been found in IL2...
it often takes LONGER to fix and tweak a submitted model than it would have taken to build it right the first time...
My guess is no..
