Breaking news from Warsaw.....a coalition of Austrian patriots, supported by the German Kaiser, have captured the former Russian province of Warsaw! This move not only cuts the Russian empire in two, but also open a second front on the Turkish right flank. With two units now on the map, Archduke Sikboy has proven to be a resourceful and opportunistic leader. His forces will definately play a role in the upcoming struggle, and may induce the Tsar to perform a tactical retreat from Eastern Germany and Bohemia.
Up north, the Tsar's forces has foiled an attempted breakthrough of the German fleet into the Barents sea. Even with French support from Norway, the Russian fleet in the Barents was able to hold on. In fact, the Russians may be able to hold onto the Barents and St. Petersburg longer than it had at once first appeared. Tsar fd-ski also attempted to capture Munich this season with Turkish support, but the French army in Piedmont foiled this attempt. With German support coming down from Kiel, it looks as though Munich is safe.
The Kaiser Sandman is in an interesting position. With his forces massed in the East, and an ally behind enemy lines, does he continue the push to St. Petersburg, or delay long enough to crush the Russian armies in danger of being trapped by the Austo-German pincer? Can he pull off the coup and do both?
In the south, the struggle over Italy continues, with the French losing Rome, but gaining Tunis. President Tarmac builds two units this winter, however, so he has reinforcements on the way.
King Raubvogel's fortunes have waned, but he is still alive, and combined with his Turkish ally, is definately not out of this fight.
The Sultan's forces continue to make inroads into Italy, capturing the Italian capital of Rome, but the Sultan must make adjustments to address the potential threat from a resurgent Austria in Budapest. Turkey now has a two-front war on her hands.
