Shaw's book is awesome ! been stuck in chapter 3 and 4 for years, lol.
Though planes retain E so well in AH doin hi G turns, some tactics dont really apply, IMO of course ;)

That page cannot be found.
So I'll summarize based on my own experience. :p
Select the four 20mm and two heavy MG load-out. Bring 50% fuel and a drop tank, or 75% internal. Climb on WEP to 10k, normal-engine climb to 15k, WEP to 20k, normal climb at your leisure from there or level if enemy aircraft tend to be at 10k or less. At first sign of enemy aircraft icons, release the drop tank if you brought it. Select a target, dive at full throttle to 400ias, then cut throttle to avoid overspeed (and giving away your presence by your motor sound). Fire guns from d300 or less from behind (if you're rate of closure is very rapid, you can begin firing at d400 and let them travel into the target as you close). If you miss, go full throttle with WEP and shallow-climb away.
If the enemy turns before you reach your firing range, do not turn with him. Instead, climb away on WEP.
If the enemy turns to press a frontal head-on attack, line the enemy aircraft up and begin firing all guns at d1.0 and let the shells travel into him.
Do not engage your next enemy aircraft until you have achieved at least 10k alt or more. You may need the altitude to dive away in case you find yourself in trouble.
After you have vanquished your foes, strafe some 20mm ammunition on the town buildings. A burning city will incite more enemy aircraft to launch, whereas burning fuel tanks will just make the enemy go somewhere else and deprive you of your victory kills. ;)

No, not really, but at least you'll sound more intelligent.

Grrr!
I messed up the AH bbs links:(
-
Skuzzy, can this be made into a sticky ? It would be a great reference for new/experienced pilots comming in and a shame to lose it into the abyss of posts below.
