I believe it's a quote taken from a US Admiral during the Spanish American war - I've seen it before on a wargame.

Cheers

How about a free subscription to Playboy (http://www.playboy.com)? Or even better, how about a trip to HTC for a nice Bar-beee-que in the Texmex land?

Heck, I think you should get a free HTC tattoo.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Starship Troopers???  You must be Canadian, right??  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

These were the famous words uttered by Commodore George Dewey just before the battle of Manila Bay in 1898.  Within 6 hours of the start of the battle Dewey's six ships had sunk every ship in the Spanish fleet with few casualties on the US side.  Captain Gridley was the Captain of USS Olympia, the US flagship.

I learned about that one in boot camp.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Ha! Sancho! Sinking Spanish ships has been a passtime of the Royal Navy since 1588. The Spanish Armada, a fair few scuffles in the Carribean and then Nelson obliterating a joint French-Spanish navy in a little known battle called Trafalgar.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Although sinking a fleet with only six vessals isn't bad going.

Not that this has anything to do with pugg's post, of course.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
