Title: Thunderbird Movie
Post by: Swager on October 09, 2003, 08:32:49 PM: Remember the 1960s Si-Fi show about the Thunderbirds? Puppets who flew rescue vechiles to save people in water and in space?

Well they are making it into a movie, due out next year. May be pretty cool!! I guess Bill Paxton is starring in it.

How they gonna transfer the magic of all that to the big screen?

Best thing about "The Thunderbirds" was the toy vehicles I talked my parents into buying for me. :D

In "U-571" there's a scene where he's having a heart-to-heart with one of the other submariners (Mathew McConaghy's character I think). Anyway, its supposed to be this real serious "war is heck" type speech, but the whole time I kept thinking of his ride in the 'vette with Arnold Schwarzenegger in "True Lies" when he's having a heart-to-heart with Arnold and that scene ends with a hilarious daydream by Arnold of knocking Bill's lights out.

I kept waiting for a punchline in "U-571" that never came.

Captain Scarlet would be a cool film to make! :)

Some of those episodes..lol...nice to see someone giving the "sparkler" and black powder industry work!

Post by: Charon on October 10, 2003, 11:47:24 AM: Thunderbirds was my favorite show. That was some high powered drama at the time for a five year old. I particularly liked No. 2, even is it is only a big old transport. 2 is still my "favorite number" today and green my favorite color :)
