System is acting up a bit, which are the best drivers and should I d/l the Riva tuner to tweak the res-refresh?
Thanks

Hello,
The best driver in my opinion is the omega 45.23 drivers. Here is the link. http://www.omegacorner.com/index_nvidia.html
If you use them make sure you set a restore point, sometimes they can be a real pain to uninstall.
I have a GF4 4200, and this driver gives me the best performance. The drivers are based on Nvidia drivers, then tweaked to remove issues that usually come with the Nvidia drivers.

Stay away from the 45.xx drivers. There are numerous bugs in those drivers and they can leave DX is a rather bizarre state as it pertains to changing your video card.
If you want stability with DX9, use the 30.82 or 41.09 drivers.
Omega's drivers are nothing more than registry tweaks. Not saying that is a bad thing, but NVidia has been leaning on Omega to drop the drivers.

ouch, i should have read this post before installing the omega drivers 10 minutes ago
i'll just cross my fingers

Well, I like the omega's. They work fine for me. But what works for one may not work for someone else, since there is an infinite number of configurations possible.

the sea flickers in zoom mode in my rig:(
not really bad flickering but it is noticeable
time to roll back the driver
-
the higher omega drivers have been corrupting some of my dx9 files(just figured it out) may as well go back to 30.82.....small perf. hit but real stability

I have the gf ti4200 and I cant run anything after the 30.82 drivers, but I have a generic system. The detonator 4x.xx's all affect my system adversley not only in gameply but in all aspects of computer work. If you do the auto update in winxp, be sure to pay attention to your vid drivers after the update. I accidentally installed some later detonator drivers via the auto update and it took a month for me to realize what the problem was.
