I am looking for the Axis and Allied aircraft that were used. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Specifically those we have in Aces High.
Thanks in advance. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

June, 1943 ... I think AH still miss too many a/c or variants. AFAIK, only 109G-2, 109G-6, C.202, C.205, Ju-88 and B-26 were probably there. No B-17G, no P-38L were there. AH needs earlier P-38, the P40 and the P39.
But if you use Typhoons as Beaufighters then you can do everything (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Jokes apart, so far AH scenarios are not very interesting from an axis POV, *imho*.
Bring 1941-43 a/c and a rolling plane set!

The Tiffie (Beufighter) roadkill retarded idea thing was beyond rediculous and it really turned me off of AH scenarios.
I suppose the next time when we need Mosquitos theyll use Tempests as stand ins...

it's me or this guys is more and more annoying ?

One last friggin time (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/mad.gif)
The Typhoon was used in Afrika Corps soley due to the fact that I didn't want the allied side limited to a single fighter type when we had another that fit the correct time period.
Call it what you will.
If you didn't like it tough toejam.
The ironic part is that the Typhoon had zero, and I mean ZERO impact on the final outcome of the scenario. From all the squeakes and moans you would think it totally unbalanced the event.

Just for the sake of it...
THANKS again Verm. AH was my most pleasant time in AH. (Could not make the Hostile Shores registration schedule (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) )
I really appreciate when somebody works for me for FREE. I do not care if its a Zeke vs. Tempest scenario and I have to fly Zeke. Nobody obligues me to join. If I do, then I take the pros and the cons. Even if I fly Zeke. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Again (and again and again) thks for a wonderful job.
Cheers,
Pepe

The Tiffie (Beufighter) roadkill retarded idea thing was beyond rediculous and it really turned me off of AH scenarios.
Verm did a LOT of work setting Afrika Corps up and IMO did a fine job with the available plane set.
I challenge you come up with a scenario concept, create a terrain for it along with all the supporting info and website.
Taking a piss on his efforts is a toejamty thing to do - you should shut until you prove you can do better.
-
jihad,
Even if he can do it better, his post is way off track. AK engagemet was free. You join if you like. If you dislike, it is a simple task not showing your nose around anymore. If you feel you should, just point why. Anyone posting why should bear in mind the awful load of work behind the scenario (any of them). Anyone failing to realise that is hardly likely to appreciate words like politeness, education, thankfulness. Most likely selfishness (sp?) is on top of their dictionary even if it does not starts with an A.
No need to point he should shut up. On his side, most likely he won't understand the concept. On the rest's one, his post speaks clearly for himself. Ignore him.
Cheers,
Pepe

Grunherz, you are an un-grateful butt-hole. It's guys like you that discourage people from being involved in the creation and running of campaigns. I hope the CM crew notes your name and toejamcans your registration for the next scenario. It wouldn't be worth the BS to have you in it.
Verm, the majority of us really appreciated all the work you did for the community. A big <S> from the silent majority. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Verm's work has been outstanding. His Med terrain is probably the best I've ever seen in 4 years of WB+AH online flying (and 3 years of real flying, btw (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)). I'm sure GRUN understands it.
The problem was and still is the limited plane set. IMHO, and I can be wrong, in the first year HTC should have built a plane set with the best MA/scenario use. The actual set is probably too much MA oriented, with those speed, cannon monsters and war winning a/c.
The lack of early-mid war planes dont allow our CM to build balanced scenarios. Almost all late '43 --> half '45 air battles are lost for the axis side. All ampibious operations from half 1943 to half '45 are hopeless battles for the axis side. Same thing for CV v/s CV battles in the Pacific.
Late-very-late war is an intersting new thing in online sim, indeed, but balance is the key, both in Main and during scenarios, *imho*. <S>!

Hey all I said that the tiffie beu thing turned me off of historic scenarios, by ur reactions, man u think I said some really bad. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Yes I do realize that scenarious are more difficult to put togeter than I could manage or have the time for. Its a very complex thing to make the websites, terrains, maps, and organize. So I certaily dont intend to demean all that effort, just that really wierd logic of how tiffie is a beufighter.
Thats all....
-
Grunherz,
It's not weird logic, It's called lack of alternatives and designer's choice.
I would say that The Tiffie (Beufighter) roadkill retarded idea thing was beyond rediculous and it really turned me off of AH scenarios. is rather demeaning of the effort put on this....to say the least. And this kind of "flowered" assertions are more common by the days (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
Stand back, direct your post to yourself and, if you feel good about receiving your own comment, go post it. I doubt you would feel quite OK if you received from anyone your very post. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Cheers to all scenario developers! You guys do a great job from what you have to work with! <S!> I had a blast in the last frame of HS, even though I royally sucked! I'm looking forward to flying some scenarios with the Mongrels!

This information was just for the Check 6 this Sunday, not for a large multi frame event.
Gatt thanks for answering my question. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Verm worked his tail off (understatement) for AC. Most of you know this. Fd-ski worked his tail off for HS. Again most of you know this. Both were backed by CM's who supported their efforts with time away from flying. Those of you who don't like what the CM's do for our community every week then jump in and show us how to do it better.

Daddog, just a slight correction.
LW at this time had completely transformed to the G6 in this arena.
Furthermore (from my memory - can find documentation if needed) there were FW Jabo Geschwader's in the area - AFAIR stationed on the mainland.
Again from memory main opponents were p38's and spit's.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the support (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I'd normally not respond like that, but I guess I just had a bad morning.
Now, if I could just get my new computer parts in, I could start working on my next creation. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
PS: Grunherz you squeak about the Tiffie constantly in Afrika, but you tend to forget that the Fw190A8 (which didn't serve in the North Afrika campaign either) was used as a sub for the early 190F models we didn't have then. Oh but that was for the Axis, so it was ok, right? Hypocrit.

I honestly did not intend this as a bashing of all the screnario folks hard work. I suppose I cannot change that as the perception of something by the reciver is ultimately more important than the senders original intent for the message.
So Im sorry I offended anyone and especially sorry that I worded my message in a way that was, in retrosepect, very easy to mistake for something that it was not.
Although I honestly dislike the tiffie decision and tried in good faith to argue against it when Afrika was being put together initially, my constant dwelling on it and bringing it up again is not in any way useful or producive. As it only leads to negative and hurtful threads like this, and a general negativity that I too dislike in AH. I hope to make it understood that im not trying to be diruptive or an ass, just that sometimes im a bit to emotional and honest and too fast to write down my inital reaction to things. Anyway if I kept my personal background more clear as to knowing why not to dwell on past diagreements and percieved wrong I should not have responded as I did. Nearly 250,000 people died in my country because we couldnt let go of the past and some individuals kept bringing it up over and over again, so I really should know better to let certain issues pass on into the past and not bring them up constantly.
So Im sorry for all this mess I caused.

AFAIK A-8 is structurally VERY close to F-8 and its overall performance is near too.
Can't say same about Tiffie / Beaufighter.
Guess it was your time to be "hypocrit"?.

Hi
I know that the RAF used these aircraft in the Med Sea area, but I cannot confirm whether they were used in the Invasion of Sicily.
Spitfire Vb
Spitfire IX (some were in use with the more popular Mk.VIII (in Med))
B26B (RAF)
I don't think the P47-25 was used until late 1943/44 when they replaced P40/Hurricane equipped RAF Squadron's within the area.
Hope this is of use.
Regards
Nexx

I remember having fun in a BoB scenario where we had Spit IX's as Spit I's, 109F's as 109E's, Hellcats as Hurricanes, and A-26s as 110's.

Thanks for the help gents. I have a set up that should work well and keep "most" happy. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Should be an active event. http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/Forum56/HTML/000065.html (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/Forum56/HTML/000065.html)
I will post the details in the Special Events Announcement later today. Hope to see you all in the Check 6 tomorrow, 3-6 PM EST. Bring your squad and fly a mission or two. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
