Nine months in PRISON?

A $20,000 fine?

$103,000 more from 'sales proceeds'?

1 year probation?

3 years probation on his company?

All this for a 65 year-old man with no criminal record who sold pipes on the internet.

How outrageous is that?! I wonder how much farther out the pendulum is gonna swing before a backlash is gonna grab ahold of it and swing it but hard in the direction of... sanity.

Oops... figured out the problem. I confused Sandman's "It's just silly" thread with Sandman's "It's pathetic, really" thread. Musta thought they were the same post and ignored one of them. It's the little errors like this that leave me lying awake at night in a cold sweat, worrying about what else I might be missing out on.
