Title: Software question..
Post by: WhiteHawk on October 12, 2003, 04:12:22 PM
Now that my new system is taking shape, do I have to go out and buy a windowsXP, or can I use the one that was installed on my old puter..

legally?

I dont have a disk for it, it was preinstalled on teh HD, and I spose it is somewhere on the quickrestore disk that came with it.
I dont know if each computer needs its own copy legally or if, once you buy it, you can use it on each of your computers?
Something tells me Mr Gates wants each puter to have its own copy.

the disc's that come with the pc alot of times are married to that pc ... I have gotten a few of them to work but i ussually have to load the files on my pc first in a folder and set them up for a burn ... then they work sometimes...

that system your building is more designed for XP pro ...

I feel if you own a OS that you can use it on any machine you own,  its rediculas to have to by an os for each pc.

If you have it already installed on your hd just swaping it may get it going ... but it wont run the best until it gets a clean install
