Erwin Rommel "died of his wounds".  Naturally the report failed to mention "self-inflicted due to the fear of the Gestapo".

Hate them or love them, this guy was a brilliant General as long as the supply line was intact.

Field Marshall Erwin Rommel suicides. He was implicated in an anti-Hitler plot, and given the choice of suicide or humiliating trial and execution. Hitler always liked him.

Thks for catching that...I said "General"...guess that wasn't in the right context.  "Field Marshal" is much more appropriate.

Look at his defence plan for Normandy, That guy knew what he was doing. A pity the others didnt.

(not a pity, cause it ment that the allied won the war!)

He was good, no doubt.  But I'd take FM Guderian anyday over Rommel.
