Heheheh...some of you are gonna groan when you read this, but in a few weeks there should be an influx of newbies...and here's where the groaning comes: they'll be between the ages of 11 and 15 years old. How do I know this? you may ask. Well, some of you may know that I'm a Boy Scout leader, and I teach the Aviation merit badge a couple of times a year to not only my troop, but sometimes the entire district. And, man, are they ever enthusiastic! Now, some of these kids are old hands at internet gaming, and could teach me a thing or two, and to be sure, I always learn something new at these sessions. But I use Aces High to help give them a feel in the classroom for how/ why control surfaces work; aerodymnamic forces, flight physics, etc...
Of course, all they want to know is how do I bomb stuff and kill things...lol. Actually, the dads are as bad as the kids. I give out the web address to HTC before the class ends and you can see the gleem in their eyes (the dads, not the kids) as they rush home to try it out on their own computers.
So, I'm doing my part to ensure fresh meat....did I say that out loud? I meant to say enthusiastic new clients for HTC...yeah, that's what I meant...

WTG! The fresh mea... er.. new talent is appreciated. :D
I'll never forget the first time I played Diablo. The Butcher's "Fresh Meat" scared the hell out of me. :D

I'm sure they will instantly be the premiere players amoungst the bishsticks.

Tell them to start a BSA squad. Too bad we dont have macros anymore:
"Curtious and Kind! (KILL) //The Boy Scouts\\" :D
I'd ask HT if you get a commission off this. ;)

That's actually a good idea. It'll teach them the relevance of gravity on accelleration and compression (ala 109G10, P51B, P38). They'll also learn about Bournouli's theory of flow and lift when they lose the wingtip off of their 190 or the flap off their P-51D, and the effect of torque when they get that 109, Corsair, and 190 close to stall speed.
And don't forget the blackouts from g-stresses.
And manual trim for level flight.
But good luck explaining the bouncing Tiger effect after both tracks have been knocked off! :lol

Hehe, yeah, I sorta do have that effect on people. :D

In some cases it looks like the maturity level will go up a notch or two with the influx of the 11 - 15 year olds (based on some of the childish banter seen on the MA text buffer ;) ).
-
Heheheheh...just get ready for the constant "HOW DO I START MY ENGINE?" or "I CANTMAKEITGOISTARTEDTHEMOTORB UTITWONTMOVE!!!!!!"
I offer my apologies in advance.:o

Have them join the Knight's side. Tell them the MAWs are the best and are the most helpful bunch. They'd be happy to help the new recruits. :D
