Speed about 400kmh at ground level, 750 kg bombs and 4*82 or 132mm rockets and 2*23mm cannons with 600 rps and penetration 25mm from 400 meters.
I would rather sit in Il-2 than Ostie it is attacking (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Did Ivan ever put red stars on the wings?
Me gots ta know!

Yeager
They may have put stars on wing upper sides sometime but the most common
Soviet markings were six stars located on tail, fuselage and underside of wings.
This one is missing at least the
fuselage stars.
This will make the extended wait for that other sim a bit easier.

When did they put this thing in here and WTF is it for?

About VVS markings. Most usual was to have 4 stars.Fuselage and bottom of wings. The star in tail was not so very common as thought. For example P39Q/N had their USAF stars overpainted and thus having them(red ones) on same places as USAF had. Some Spitfires I have seen(pics) had the roundels painted over and the usual pattern of 6 stars(wing top/underside,fuselage),but not tail. Also the assumption of the stars having a yellow bordering is mostly wrong. The bordering was either silverish(light grey) or white. Some planes(very rare) had a small red star with yellow border, indicating Hero Of the Soviet Union,on the tail. But this was extremely rare or just a setup for the photo? My 2 cents...

Given the leading edge white vertical on the tail plane.
It would be circa early to may 45 on the Berlin campaign. However these are usually also shown with white dots to the rear of the tail plane star.
Fuselage stars were very common as was some form of text personal to the regiment, pilot or even manufacturer.
I am not at home at the moment so cannot access all my photos but the background screen at this site is very typical. Note the IL2m3 in the forground has also almost certainly seen action in the Baltic (Prussia /lithunania)as shown by the arrow headed lightening on the fuselage.

Please only refer to the background, the page was part of a scenario piece for another sim.
