Hey Wizard,
Being lucky enough to be an alpha (that cost me some beers (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)) I can personally say that I feel the Alpha, as it stands now, will easily make a pretty good beta. So forget about December - Pyro & HT know how delicate dates can be in a game and wouldn't _tease_ you.
The beta will be out, I'm sure (although I don't know the day) because the alpha is _already_ a good beta. The only reason I can think of that it hasn't been released is that HTC will want to polish off as much as they can before they get deluged with change requests via this board.
