Took up a 109... first thing I did was attempt the hammerhead... that tail kicks around FAST.  

I love it.

Playin around in am M3, checkin out the MTFs.. Pulled 'er into a barn after narrowly avoiding nuclear floating disks.. that's pretty cool, still lookin around.. Graphics are pretty rough (meaning they flicker a lot) Tracer spiral for smaller caliber is way overdone, imo

I tried it with .303s from a spit V.   Put about 20 hits in all over a P51 at close range then pulled right up and took a screenie.....No discernable damage.

No zekes here yet.   Only109G10, Fw190A5, Spit 5 and 9, P51B and D, Goon, M3, Pz4, Tiger available.

I used .303s from Spit5.. no visible damage.   Drones (still P51Ds) disappear.  But I did notice the "damage bubble" or whatever HTC uses, seems to be a little more refined and harder to score hit sprites.  I think gunnery will be a bit different.  

The FM rocks so far.  Edge of envelope flight is nice.  190a5's roll rate is VERY fast.  That thing will dance like mad.  SpitV's rate of turn (in degrees per second) feels a lot faster at slower speeds.  Cant wait to see the F4U's :)

I *am* getting some funky jumping textures every once nad a while.  Looks as if the skin of the a/c is moving around.  Can't seem to tweak my settings to get rid of black-boxy text.

New gunnery seems much much better!  Very similar feel to WW2OL and IL2FB - good! :)

With all graphics settings maxed out, I'm getting a minimum of about 20fps.  This is with 2 or more drones in view and lots of ground details visible. When looking up, I get 85 fps, which is limited by my monitor refresh rate.  Scissoring around the drones and shooting them, the frame rate is usually around 25-35.

Like I said, this is with all the AH2 graphics settings maxed out, horizon fog distance at the maximum 17 miles (default is 10 miles), using 1600x1200x32bit, 2xFSAA.  Lowering the horizon fog distance naturally improves the results.

I have a P4-2.53GHz, Radeon 9700 Pro (Omega Catalyst 3.6 drivers), 1GB DDR.

well.......... all i can say is it still needs a lot of work doing but it looks good so far, my pc struggled and i have a:

P4 1.9ghz
256mb DDR Ram
Geforce FX5700 128 mb 3D graphics card
40 gig HD

So after day one..

The MTFs rock, gonna make GV fights real fun..

The floating disc/trees are HORRIBLE! I really hope they change these..

M3's flight model's been revised ;)

Towns are much larger, in fact, i'm still looking for the map room! (In m3)

No auto take off selected.

Much more torque on runway and at slow airspeeds, airframe twists under full power and you will need full right aeleron trim or be prepared to give max on the aeleron control as the wheels come off the deck.

And if at full power under 200 mph looks like you will need to keep the aeleron near full to the right now.

Aeleron trim required at similar speeds seems to be approx double of AH1.

Low speed flight feels very similar to IL2 now kinda mushy on the elevators.

I am getting identical fps 50-75 with my p2.8  

It looks like the amds are the ones suffering fps problems, but that is only a first look.

There is not any damage models to show....they disabled them or something....droones dont blow up or damage...they just disapear:(

But the flight model feels much better...they actually seem to have fixed my only big complaint...the low speed handeling feels 100% improved.....and flying low is a REAL ADVENTURE NOW!

There will be MUCH LESS 25 foot high ground skimming....ya gots to respect that dirt now that its got trees growing out of it all over the place...and some of them are hard to see till OOOPS BOOM  LOL:rofl :rofl :rofl

Yeah, they actually look great from the air, but it sucks on the ground, but I heard its only beta and they will add tree trunks.

The map room is there but now only serves the purpose as something for troops to capture; the functions of the map room have been moved to the new O'club (:cool: ) where you change country and make missions...theres a little ladder in the tower that leads down to the o'club, its a little room with a table and radio.  I was always wondering what that building underneath the tower was...

ANy of you guys looked into the sun yet?  My god it is fricking amazing.  particularly near sunset.

Also, drive around the town in a m3 once.  Everything seems to scale!!!!!!!!!

The 109G-10 is porked. Try to dive at high speed. You can't keep it in the dive,  is like the B17 in AH1.:(

Only checked out the 109g10.
I love the new feel at take off and landing. Its not so easy as it is in AH1.
It also seems that its easier to slip sideways in flight. Thats a nice chance to improve maneuver skills.
But the rollrate in the new g10 sucks defenitely. Thats realy bad.
Will i be able to dance around my opponent like i can do in AH1?
I keep back my whine till i can check it out online. But my heart is bleeding.

Hi guys this is save

I just want you know to expect.

Warbirds has undergone the same harder hardware requirements with the change from wb2 to wb3.


Most current users of WB3 have high-end mac's or  at least pIII's with a good graphics card.

Those who wants the bells and whistles will have to look for a p4 with a late nvidia or radeon card in WB3.

I expect a competing product have to do the same change, as you still have to produce at least the same # of million polygons / second,

Been there done that.
The only difference from warbirds (that Im more familiar with) is that they still have the low-end friendly 2.77  arenas up and running,


This is something HT and pyro should concider imho.

As an old Warbirds player that have become used to the good graphics in
the new engine of WarBirds3  Im looking forward to  AH2

I have tried every release of AH but the migration to a new engine is a must
to stay competetive imo.
