The intro screen displays just fine. Also it takes about 2 minutes from clicking the offline button till the tower finally loads up.

Dude - you are really pushing the min. requirements - Hate to say it but....
-
That 32mb card is pushing it anyways - try installing DX9 and see if that will boost - also 128 mb RAM is low for just about anything these days :)
64mb DDR card 50-60$ US
512 DDR or SDram 50-60$ US :)
or
Gateway - new system $500 :)
-
Don't buy a Gateway computer.
-
NO!!!!!!!!! thats the same dweeby thing my PC is doing NO!!!!
-
well due to my crapy CARD im looked up a cheap 64mb one can some one tell me if it well run aces high 2 well
Power Color Radeon 7000 64MB DDR
there selling it for 40$
-
Save abit more Simshell, thats a very old card and it has very poor performance.
-
how about a V9180 Magic GeForce4 MX440 64MB 8x AGP
this is 60$ but 3 days at my dads shop i can buy it
-
If im not mistaken its abit better but im no expert on this matter. Ive just ordered the 9600XP for my system that im building but it costs more than the mx440 card. I would suggest that you wait a few weeks while HTC finishes AH2 and some more folks can give you some benchmark numbers before you buy anything. Gives you time to save up more money too.
Whats the specs on the rest of your system?
-
well my display is this
name:intel(R)82810E graphics controller
manufacturer: intel corporation
chip type:intel(R) 82810
DAC type:internal
approx total memory: 32.0MB
current display mode:800 x 600 (16 bite) (75Hz)
monitor: hp pavilion mx 70
and some othere stuff
xp got it last year
256 ram
directx9
processor 1300MHZ
-
The MX440 will be alot better than the graphics you have now, but i would still wait for more performance numbers from the AH community after AH2 is officialy released before i run to the store. Is that a duron processor, celeron or p3?
Im starting to think that if you get a fast graphics card the rest of your system will not keep up and you wont benefit alot from it... durons and celerons at those speeds are not very fast.
-
my processor is a intel(R) celeron(TM) CPU 1300 MHz
-
From the looks of it, AH2 will require an entry-level displaycard to be playable.
With entry-level I mean Radeon9500 and up or Geforce4Ti and up. Other cards below that are more of a joke with current games. AH2 might run on them with reduced detail though. The looks of AH2 is so much the same to the original that it seems they only added some eye-candy to the old code. (not talking about flight physics now.)
Taking radeon7000 etc. to games today is equivalent of taking a 1965 model Formula1 to 2003 Gp and then wondering why it can't cut the mustard.

I would really think hard about updating your system with new mobo, cpu, ram and videocard. Should not be very expensive if you shop around. The rest of your system (harddrive, cd-rom etc.) is prolly fine and can be reused. If it works fine for AH1 then you have a few weeks or maybe more before you have to upgrade for AH2 anyway and that should give you some time to save money.
You may or may not have a system that can handle a good videocard upgrade but im not an expert on this so if you type in all of your system specs in detail then i will let Skuzzy handle this one from here :)
-
what more would you need
and if i have to upgrade my hole pc just for a game forget about it i can say bye bye aces high
-
I would go for abit more mem for starters and a radeon 9600 if money is an issue.
First see what kind of ram your mobo supports.
-
whats a mobo:confused:
-
mobo = motherboard
you have to watch about some PC's' ,I went to upgrade my daughters pc (dell) and my cards were to big for her case she had the desktop case not the tower. so it would not close. the card woirked when plugged in but case was to small to keep it in. So i assume that some store bought PC's and ones like dell will have problems with pc udates. may have to take it to a pc shop that dont have a mens/ladies/children dept a regular PC store Like CompUSA should be everywhere for starters
I am using a ATi 8500 64meg card w/3.8cat and it works fine in ah1 moastly get about 40-60 fps and only get lag bad in the other arenas when starting off or wheni am in a crownd at launch or fruball . waiting for some of the bugs to get out of beta, was thinking about a ati 9600 pro or the geforce equavilent dont know how to go on this one. I have a Older P4 723 pin version on a Intel 850gb mobo. with 384 megs of the 800 rambus memory running Windows ME. i think the majority here is either gforce or ati. which will you think will end up being the better card for AH2 before i upgrade my video. any info on cards

pugg, I'm getting the exact same graphics you are and have a very similar hardware.
OS: Win2K SP4.
CPU: Athlone, Thunderbird 1.1 gig
Memory: 128 MB.
Primary File System: FAT32
DirectX: Lates version of 9
Graphics card: ASUS AGP-V7100 SDRAM v5.33g
I tried running at 800x600 16 bit, and 640x480 16 bit. Same results. I only have beta on my computer right now.
-
I have the exact same problem here as well.
OS: XP Home
P4 2.2gig
512 mb ram
DX 9.0a
Card SIS 650
Display memory 64mb
driver SISGRV.D11 version 6.13.0010.2110
And yep its a laptop. (other pooter will never run AH2, its a dinosoar).
Ahh well..time for a new desktop anyway
RTR
-
SiS card will never be able to run AH2 under any circumstance. Only answer is a new card.
-
Hello All,
I ran the first beta no problem.
I loaded beta4 and am now expieriancing the same problem pugg is.
Box=
Operating System: Win2k
Processor: Intel P4 2.53
Memory: 256MB RAM
mobo=ASUS PS533E
DirectX Version: DirectX 8.1 (4.08.01.0881)
Video Card - ATI Radeon 9700 Pro.
Since I was able to run the first beta I really dont think this is a hardware issue.
Anyone from HTC respond yet Pugg?
Are you still having the problem?

Set your texture size limit to 128 by hand in the file.
\Aces High II\settings\video8.cfg
128,MaxTexSize
Worked like a charm!!!
Thanks,
