Game will run at default settings FPS mid to upper 20's. Oddly no matter what resolution I change to in game this doesn't seem to change much between 640x480 or 1600x1200. Tried to set video resolutions from the higher menu option (not the in-game option) and now game wont run at all. Now when i click on AH2 icon the "select Video Card" dialog comes up - once I press "OK", even at lowest resolution, I get a few balck screens then desktop with a error dialog "Initialization failed with -3 mainGR3D_FAILED -1"
Can click on the regular Ace High (whew) and it (Ah classic) runs normally.
I do not like AH2, it will play with this system fps wise even at default settings but it is ugly and very dark. There is a terrible general sparkling everywhere. - the same look you get in current game with mip mapping off. (Though I did have mip mapping on) This is a no go.

Well you both have the GF2 MX400 the worst performing model of the GF's you could have purchased.
It was never to be taken seriously for gaming even when first developed.
I would not be surprised if it actually falls below AH2 minimum specs.
But you never know HT may be able to help, on second thoughts why dont you help HT and consider buying a better graphics card ?
I know thats not possible for everyone but certainly worth considering.

I have a Geforce2 MX400 64 meg and I am not getting the same results as you.
Everything looks good but I have a celeron 466mhz and I'm getting horrible framerates.... expected. :(
-
Gforce MX440 here too...
posting new for skuzzy
-
NEVERMIND... CORRECTION...
I get the same problems "sometimes". "Initialization failed with -3 mainGR3D_FAILED -1"
I tried to recreate and it seems like this happens when I change any video settings like changing the resolution.

Yeah I know but.................
Isnt the idea of beta to get the game working on as many different platforms as possible. GeForce 2MX is a pretty standard card, alot of newbies that come into the game are gonna have it. I would think that HTC would want to get this problem sorted out.
BTW i've been planning on getting a new card. This one has never given me any problems, I've had since I built the system in 2000. But a small performance boost would be nice.

Working pritty good on my gf2 mx 400 64 mb card...
getting triangle textures flashing now and then fps 15 low 35 avg seen as high as 90fps looking up ..
See my beta test post for spec's

Uninstalled rebooted reinstalled, game wont run anymore (won't go past the resolution selection screen without error I mentioned above).
This just isnt enough card or system to run this game (I hope AH 1 stays up for a while - on this machine it looks and plays better)

Totally wrong as a visit to any reputable hardware site will easily bear out. Sure it is an old card NOW (I got mine a long time ago and it even runs today's Call To Duty demo great). However, it is indeed very much mainstream. In fact there are probably still more machines with geforce2 in them than any other card even now - there was a MaximumPC poll on this earlier this year.)
"NVIDIA is diversifying its product portfolio by offering a low-end and a high-end version of the GeForce2 MX. The MX 200 targets brand-conscious users without offering exciting 3D performance. At the high-end, the MX400"
I don't think they were talking at the time about high end of word processing.

Don't belive what people post, do your own homework.

Assuming you have a slowish CPU(under 1ghz or so), this kind of thing is normal. It just means that the cpu can't process fast enough for the graphics card to have any trouble keeping up.

I get the same error message using a Geforce3 Ti200. Same message with older drivers and the latest Nvidia reference drivers. Running Win98, DirectX 9 and an AMD XP1700.
